The fact that Mark Hume ran with the story is a definite plus, and Laila deserves all the accolades one could bestow upon her for her efforts.

The sad part is where were the mainstream media on this and pretty much everything else political. Aren't they the ones that are afforded certain priviledges not available to the rest of us? Radio, television and printed news all seem to have dedicated reporters on BC politics, and yet they all came up empty. It can't be funding as they all seem to be able to send their sports reporters all over the globe to cover this or that event. They seem to be able to fund their staff to attend many inconsequential media events promoted by the government.

Yet it takes a blogger that does what she does in her spare time to expose a story such as this. Something is definitely wrong with this picture. Either the reporters that cover provincial politics are inept and should be replaced with others that can do the job, or they are being stifled by their organizations. Whatever the reason, the mainstream media has a lot of explaining to do.

This is the big business of our new globalized world. They just see taxpayer money as another source to line their pockets. Stealing is to nice a word.

Makes me sick that people vote for this, leading their own(and the future generations) financial demise.

Campbell, Ceo's and Chairman of the board's brag about how there isn't
a contract in the world that they can't rip up.

The next government must have the same policy .

Talk about a Corporate welfare nanny state!!!-- But then that is the HST,
straight out of our pockets to theirs.

Fascism is alive and well , Heil Gordo and his mobsters .

Laila Yuile's work deserves a Webster award. It certainly should not be going to any main stream media type.
Even though Hume wrote the story for his paper I could not see it covered in any MSM here in B.C.
I don't know what we have to do to get this out to the general public, maybe take out ads.
I do hope the N.D.P. gets with it and starts to publizise this instead of in-fighting.
The best thing we can do is e mail these articles to the people we know so they will also become informed.
Your blog and others have certainly perked up my life.
thank you

Laila, I call them as I see them. I believe that we have been ill-served by the media, who are afforded special privileges. The ability to post my thoughts on a site that must get a much greater coverage than the more eclectic sites not associated with the corporations controlling our media had to be used.

If it wasn't for an interview I heard on CKNW between Harvey Oberfeld and Bill Good and the imposition of the HST, I would probably still depend on the mainstream media for all of my information. In that vain, I assume that a majority of Canadians are as I was. Maybe my comment may have opened the eyes of others to the extent that they must delve further afield to become informed. I believe that the MSM has dropped the ball and should be called out for it.

Leah,

To you and your family my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your mother. Life is never the same but like all moms she would know you were her guardian angel, feeling safe and secure in your care. You were so fortunate to be able to keep her at home.

Blogger's are who we can trust to give, a politically challenged person like me, the reliable truth. I am fed up with newspapers, radio and TV stations, for their bias. When Campbell is gone, what will the newspapers do for readers? What will biased TV and radio stations use, for listeners and watchers? I can only wonder, how many hours of research, the blogger's have to put in. They are our, good and honest journalists.
