Justice delayed is justice denied, perhaps that will be the grounds for finally calling a halt to the "Mock BC Rail corrpution trial".....
The trial has become not only a laughing joke among judicial pundits but it`s also turned into an embarrassment.....
A trial that started after years of legal wrangling over absolutely everything then swapping judges mid-stream, suspect Campbell appointed special prosecuters, we`ve had friends of the prosectution talking to jurors out of court, a judge that is very forgiving, forgiving of out of court activities, forgiving of witnesses that forget just about everything but their names and their way to the court, that is if they`re not sick, a trial and proceedings that have lasted 5 plus years so far, and finally when this stage of the trial was scheduled. scheduled for but a few months, 40 or so witnesses were supposed to be called to the stand, we are still on witness 2 and we are entering into the 6th month.....
The jurors were originally told this trial would last a few months, then after seeing the snail`s pace speed in which the case is going forward the judge informed the jurors the trial would last a year, but...The judge told the jury that well before last June, since then the BC Rail corruption trial took a 2 month summer vacation ???.....Then the trial resumed only to stop again because a juror was sick, another week gone, then a defendent is sick and it stops again,, another week gone, now apparantly there is court availability problems and so the "Mock BC Rail Trail" won`t start again until mid October, another 3 weeks gone!!!!!!
2 witnesses of 40, 7 months of trial, now there is talk of not hearing from witnesses, slashing the witness list, well......Well that opens up the door for a dismissal of all charges, justice delayed is justice denied, the defence will argue because of time restraints and or not being able to fully defend the charges because of time restraints or a jury that quits that the charges must be dropped, Gordon Campbell doesn`t want more amensiac ex-government staffers on the stand, the judge is having trouble even appearing to be legitimate and legal watchdogs have taken notice, the charges(accepting a bribe-$30 k to $60K)......are but so minor in the scheme of things.
The defendents would get a slap on the wrist even if found guilty, this "mock trial" will end soon without any resolution.......And will the Vancouver Sun or CKNW or Global news even bat an eye? We know that answer.
Which brings me to the point of this post, British Coumbia the police state.....Underneath everything lies a layer of complete control, control of the courts, the media and the rule of law, there is no justice, any event, crime, or desicion that affects the public and has political implications is highly controlled and scripted, from tainted appointed special prosecuters(iE Wally Oppal)...to judges, even the written law itself is changed to suit the powers that be.....
The so-called exoneration of John Les, of Kash Heed, the villification of Ludwig Wiebo, enemies of Government are terrorized without cause or proof for political puposes, yet clear illegal activity and immoral behavior committed by Government or friends of Government get washed away by oh so special prosecuters, environmental rules can be bent and broken for a fistful of political contributions and directorships, bit by bit our protection agencies and watchdog groups have been nuetered and silenced...
When the public is afraid of the police and Government where are they to turn!
The media in the last few weeks have confirmed what we here at the Straight Goods have known for a longtime, they are nothing but an arm of the Provincial Government, Canwest Global and CKNW have gone over the top to the point of hysteria, Christy Clark is screeching and clucking hatred twards Vander Zalm and the NDP, Bill Good and Michael Levy are so scripted with every answer to staged calls, even the odd anti-HST caller who gets through is cut off or cut short and then spun, it really is sad to see AM talk radio fall to levels that low, the Vancouver Sun have had almost every columnist promote the HST, un-named editorials attacking Zalm, Tieleman, Delaney, bloggers, organizers, articles from 20 years ago, the media can`t defend the tax, they print no counter views on the HST, do they not get it?.....People do understand the HST very well, there is no imperical evidence that the HST does anything positive, the domestic consumer is 80% of BCs economy, the domestic consumer has just been robbed of $2 billion dollars per year, the domestic consumer do understand the HST, you can`t sell this one, yet the Sun
Attacks, lie, distort, spin, repeat, repeat, repeat, ........Despite what 80% of BC wants, the media have shown that they can be bought and controlled by request of Government, Hell! Look at the hatchet job that was done on Gary E over at (How bad the record):......
The media were calling him deranged, unstable, ......Yet what did Gary E ever say, a few curse words, a effing this, an effing that, what Gary E shows me is a man who cares, someone who fights for average folks, and who is Gary E?.... An unpaid voice who fights the good fight, a father, a taxpayer, a consumer of goods, a brother and friend of community and damn it!, yea Gary E cursed, he cursed on his blog and was villified for it......Gary E cursed in the public domain, the only difference between Gary and the public is.....
Gary E cursed online where everyone in B.C. is cursing the Campbell Government under their breath!......
And the other guy villified, he may have called Barack Obama a terrorist on his Facebook page, what the hell was the Government doing checking out his Facebook page?....Well...Let me be clear, every Republican in the USA is calling Obama a terrorist, so does Beck, Limbaugh, and Fox news and probably half of the Harperites, yet drag some recall organizer through the mud in a coordinated media/Government smear campaign, does the media even report the consumer index, the economic news out of Ontario and B.C is bad, all professional fingers are pointing to the HST for the negative results, the Vancouver Sun and CKNW will not report it! The paid media will never report about Bill Bennett the racist, Bill Bennett the curser, Bill Bennett the beer for votes promoter, where are those headlines for smear, no friends that doesn`t count.
The PAB spies and sabateurs are everywhere, well, I guess I should let you know folks, there was an elaborate scheme launched against Grant G....They attempted to do the same smear campaign against me as the one done against Gary E....
BC Liberal plants attempted through deception to get Grant G and or the Straight Goods to be, either a Recall organizer, BC First candidate, or admitted Recall organizer, the Liberal plants wanted me to give them the evidence on email, on voice recording, or the written word.....
And once the BC Liberals and media had Grant G saying either in person, on my blog, on voice recording, email or the written word......Once the Government had that on me they were going to use all my own written words, words I wrote in hundreds of articles, from curse words to insults to my own illustrative discriptions to drag me and recall/hst referendum through the mud....
However, fortunately I smelled a rat, I researched what the rats said to me and considered the timing of events both by Government and media and came to the logical conclusion that I was being set up for the slaughter...."If it doesn`t make sense it isn`t true"
Lastly folks, the big bru-ha-ha....The so-called Vander Zalm prediction, it`s unfortunate the media ran with the story, let me say that Vander Zalm is partially right.....I know the plan, I possess direct knowledge of Gordon Campbell`s strategy, I own his playbook....
Here is Gordon Campbell`s plan on the HST.....Campbell has 1 year of propaganda in which to bombard us with, if the bought media and his propaganda can`t change the polling numbers and public opinion,
Plan B is.....2 weeks or so before the referendum Gordon Campbell announces that the HST will be lowered to 10% in the new year, and along with that announcement will come the accompanying spin about the cost to get out of the hst and paying back Ottawa, that and spin about major service cuts resulting from returning $1.6 billion dollars, Campbell is conered and will do anything and promise everything to get his way..
That folks is Gordon Campbell`s plan....But here`s the kicker, if Campbell loses the referendum he will resign, if Campbell wins the referendum he will resign, the simple majority that Campbell said he would honour will not be honoured by the next BC Liberal leader, and as for the HST being lowered, that is but an announcement by a premier who is no longer here, that too will not be honoured, each point of PST portion dropped off the HST will cost the BC Treasury about $1 billion dollars, the money is simply not there to do that, either way, no matter what happens in the referendum(if Campbell survives Recall in the Fall) the BC Liberals will not remove the HST, I guarantee if the BC Liberals lose the referendum they will say,
we will get out in 4 more years when the deal expires....You watch, it will be a lose lose question mark referendum,.
And finally, if the HST through public backlash got lowered by 1 point, look for the $1 billion dollar transfer, look for other consumer taxes to take its place, eco fees/hydro increase/transit/user fees/gas taxes etc etc.
