Gordon Campbell`s Recipe Book, How to Destroy Our B.C. Economy!

You know folks, I really enjoy a good debate, this HST scam is a prime example, but debate is not what we`re getting, we are getting opinion and omission, far too many omissions.........

The first omission is the argument from Campbell, an argument that all the media fails to engage, Bill Good and Gordon Campbell state.....

"Where is the Province going to get revenue for services"snip

And after that statement from Government and its political hacks the argument goes sideways.

Because who is bringing up the fiscal incompetance, who is driving the B.C. Liberal managerial record, the Bill Good`s and Michael Levy`s of the world always ask/say....."What would the NDP do....What would another Government do.....Where would the NDP find money...."

You get the gist, it`s so easy to ask the new boss, new Government, or the new bill payer to provide an answer, let me put it another way, you move into a new house, the mortgage is XX........The bills are X.....the up keep is X....your life style is X......So to afford that house you need to make XXXXX$...... but if your only making XXX$.....You have but 2 choices, sell the house or make more X......

I put this question forward to you......."How did we get here?"

________________________________________________________________

Here are a couple of reasons B.C. is broke....Forestry...

The forestry industry in B.C. has always had ups and down, but under Gordon Campbell 70 mills have closed and 35,000 thousand jobs gone, mortgage paying community building jobs gone, yet at the same time raw log exports have risen by 3000% under these Liberals...3000%...There was a big rally in Nanaimo today, hundreds turned out to protest the escalating raw log exports, years back ships filled with milled lumber would be leaving our ports, now it`s ship after ship filled with raw logs leaving our ports, high value soft woods, old growth, big fir.....And because of no ability to regulate or stop raw logs from being shipped out from the illegal lands, the TFLs that were given to Campbell`s corporate friends, to Rich Coleman`s brother....Even our auditor General ruled that the forest giveaways were "Not in the public interest"....Public forests turned into private hidden money, the Province has zero say on raw log exports from our previous public forests, rape the land and sell the property and open up another Asian mill!

But let`s be clear, Gordon Campbell has turned his back on forestry and small town B.C....He has never ever said a peep about raw log exports, and wasn`t the justification of the illegal forest giveaways a promise of more forestry jobs?...Read about the big raw log rally in Nanaimo here...You won`t find or hear the story on Gordo propaganda media.

How many billions would be in the B.C. treasury if just half the mills closed?

I read another interesting story, Denmark, the windmill capital of the world, well blow my shorts off, the people of Denmark are revolting, they now have the most expensive Electric/hydro rates in the world, they are slashing windmill subsidies, after 40 years of windmill expansion the numbers are in, the power is useless, of the the rated power generation of the windmills, a mere 7% of the rated power is delivered, and it usually produces power when the people don`t need it....And that other little problem, for every windmill Denmark built, an equal amount of coal fired, nuclear or water power generation was built....The prices of windmills are plummetting in Denmark, they can`t give them away, yet when Denmark and other countries are fleeing from tax-payer subsidized windmill power Gordon Campbell has signed away hundreds of millions to Finerva and other wind mill power producers, untendered, largesse guaranteed for 2 generations, largesse from the taxpayer, nothing but a wealth transfer to a corporate entity, .....

This folly with destructive land based wind mills will cost BCers and the treasury billions of dollars, also Campbell and co gave nearly a billion dollars to Teck comenco for Waneta dam power, power we could get at the spot market price, the guaranteed subsidies to run of river, to Plutonic power, we are talking about literally billions of dollars being sucked out of the B.C. tax payers pocket and ultimately the B.C. Government`s pocket......Read about Denmark turning against wind power here

Trade and convention center that was $450 million over budget, the Canada line $1billion over budget, the Golden ears bridge was $400 million over budget, not to mention law suits, BC Rail giveaway, BC Ferries drowning in debt yet........Yet these clowns like David Hahn and BC Rail executives,Patrick Kinsella, Lawyers, an inner group of B.C. Liberal insiders that have sponged hundreds of millions from the B.C. taxpayer....

And there was that tax change in 2001/ all industrial equipment was tax free and could be written off, a promise of jobs, yet it bore no fruit, no extra jobs, just another hit to the treasury...We can disagree about tax policy pro and con.....But I see a complete failure on the forestry file, our hydro revenues will be a thing of the past, our roads are beat up from trucks, trucks that could have been carried by a BC owned BC Rail, a rail line that could have served the Olympics and saved us $3 billion dollars on the sea to sky highway upgrade, not to mention the extra few $billion dollars on P3s against pay as we go....Our B.C. debt has rocketed upwards under Gordon Campbell, but worse than that, we are no longer making XXXXXXXXXXX $ as a Province.....We are making XXXXXXXX and that is a problem, a problem the HST won`t solve but hinder.

And as for that stale argument being used both south of the border and here in B.C....."How do we create more revenue?".....

We can`t answer that question until we ask and answer the first one.....

"How did we get here?"

And the only way back is....

Baby steps friends, baby steps.

Grant, did you read David Schreck over at the Tyee? He says that getting rid of the HST will blow another $7 billion hole into BC's finances. What the f#%@ does he mean by that? If that's true, then BC is royally screwed by this LIEberal gang!

What Shrek means is.....Money in money out...

$7 billion dollars in tax,tax in....But the Province won`t see any extra revenue over and above what the old PST brought in...Less in fact after every business claims a credit...

So there will be no money to divide among BC Taxpayers when the HST is finally removed...

The refund policy merely muddies the water...Let`s just remove the tax and move on..

Carole James has not the ability nor skill to sell that argument.....

Kill the hurtful tax and let`s move on...

Cheers

Thanks Grant. It is time to discredit those that support corporate cronyism. The likes of Michael Campbell preaching from his pulpit. What has this rabid capitalism brought us? Nothing but more poverty and government debt. Look at the Americans, 1 in 7 now living in poverty. They are the best example of a society where they encourage the rich to steal from the poor. Why no go live there Michael Campbell, Levy, there are over 400 million to exploit down there.

Grant, did you read Peter Kelly's Left Coast Rant? Fer crise sakes, if this is true then I'm moving out of BC. I just can't take the BSing, thieving, lying, LIEberals anymore.

BC Liberals outflank NDP on HST – get their Mojo back - That’s what I said. The Liberals out manoeuvred the NDP by tricking the NDP MLA’s to support the notion of the province-wide referendum in 2011. In one fell swoop, the Liberals moved the HST off the front burner and upstaged the NDP.

The BC Liberals now have repositioned themselves as the champion of respecting the will of the voter if the HST is rejected.

But my fire is also aimed at the NDP too. How dare they fall for this? They got snookered by a group of rookie Liberal MLA’s on an issue that the NDP could have won the next election on.

The NDP stood close to gaining up to 50% of the popular vote had this thing gone the other way; the Liberals appeared to be digging in their heels and it looked all but hopeless for Campbell.

The BC NDP has fallen on their swords so many times in opposition, I wonder how effective they’d be in government.

The NDP would have won the next election by a mile, but with their misstep on the HST, I’m almost ready to wager a small sum on the BC Liberals getting another term.

Grant, you forgot to mention that Scampbell managed this destruction of the BC Forest industry in the midst of the HUGEST building boom in U.S. history. Now that takes real talent - for working against the people of B.C.

"Trade and convention center that was $450 million over budget, the Canada line $1billion over budget, the Golden ears bridge was $400 million over budget, not to mention law suits, BC Rail giveaway, BC Ferries drowning in debt yet.."

Yet they keep ranting on about the Fast Ferries from the last millenium - compared to the LIEberal record the Fast Cats were a smashing success.......and at least in spite whatever failings in implementation occurred the main idea (provide jobs in BC, promote a BC shipbuilding industry, support BC Health Card with real wages rather than German health care etc. etc. ) And Campbell did go out of his way "biting off the BC Publics Nose to spite it's face" by PURPOSELY losing as much money as possible on the cats. It takes a small mean man to purposely hurt his own constituents for political gain!

Campbell, Hansen, and the BC Liberal government are, filthy with corruption. Campbell is a convicted felon, that goes hand in hand with his insane mindset. We all know, Fadden of Canadian Intelligence, is watching BC very closely, for good reason. Campbell, is like, that pompous little ass, that governs, N. Korea. Their personalities, are very much alike, as well as their governing. I think, Campbell should be jerked up by, his jock strap, and, be thrown off of the planet, along with his coward toadies, who, are not permitted to have minds of their own. It is amazing, what people will sell their souls for.

I don`t read Peter Kelly....His mind set is perverted, .......

One delay tactic from a lame duck premier doesn`t equate to being smart or tricky or anything...

Campbell called the referendum to fend off recall...

When the people hear the question they will realize once again that campbell is an Habitual liar not to be trusted...

Grant G said...

Perverted was the wrong word to describe in my above comment....

Let me say this, anyone who thinks Campbell made a brilliant tactical move...Their thinking is off....

Gordon Campbell was laying down on his back on a highway with a bus bearing down him....

Rather than take a direct hit Campbell rolled over and avoided the bus, problem is there is another bus, 2 semi-trailers and a 1000 cars directly behind the bus and coming fast...

Campbell is in survival mode...One tactic is all he has...Stall and pray.

The damage Campbell and his band of miscreants have imposed on BC are only part of the problem. Canada, The United States and many other countries have dropped the ball big time, and I don't know if it can ever be rectified.

They let countries such as China and India steal most of the manufacturing of the everyday goods that people buy. It wouldn't be so bad if these countries marketed their own brands and created a market for themselves. Instead, many well established brands in North America and other parts of the world found it financially advantageous to farm out their manufacturing to countries that were overcrowded with people, had no real economy to sustain a decent living and were ripe to be exploited. These revered corporations still charged as if they were conducting business as usual, helping the local economies, when in fact they found a way of increasing their bottom line through slave labour. It started with a few corporations and their successes just led more and more to follow in their footsteps. Before long, these companies were nothing but importers of their own products and in the process exported the jobs that made them household names. As long as the shareholders were happy, then all was good.

Fast forward to today, and what is the North American economy really based on? In the US, if you remove the manufacturing of automobiles, airplanes and armaments, you find pretty much nothing but some niche items. In Canada, it is even worse. We just export our raw materials overseas and buy them back as finished products. If it wasn't for the service industry and government jobs, our unemployment rate would make that of the US seem enviable.

It has been a race to the bottom, and I don't see anything changing anytime soon.

Those of us that have been around for a while and are much closer to leaving this mortal coil will probably not suffer too badly. I'm not so optomistic for our offspring and their progeny.
