Sounds of the Orca........A Straight Goods Muse

Written by grant G

Sometimes even slushy wet snow can send one's mind to drift, to times of youth, to times with family...

Friday morning, too much unexpected snow, with regular visitors and a long steep path down to the house snow-clearing was a must, yikes, even cleared and salted the snow overwhelms....

4 inches of snow between morning and noon, enough to keep me hopping then it stops in a blink, an early year Sun is fast approaching and as I write this piece earth's life-giving planet warmer beams a blast of soothing warmth,  sitting, typing with an open window facing the glow and suddenly thoughts go adrift....Sounds of heavy fresh snow dropping and dripping like thick heavy syrup, everything is a thaw, water runs, ozone fills my lungs and thoughts fill my mind..

as a boy with feet and shoes soaked, trudging and sludging in a snow world suddenly turned to slush and mush...I see familiar streets, see friends, see family clear as today only the scenes aren't today they're memories, triggered memories brought on by heavy watery snow trying to outrun our sun's warm glow...futile in February...

Something else happened today, Canada's NEB(national Energy Board) once again approved the TMX pipeline and that was expected but even so, to be fair the NEB approved it with a much more somber tone than the first time..

Memories of a boy fishing with dad flood my mind, Summer, Spring, Fall and Winter when fresh warm snow needs to be cleared from a boat beckoning to take a pair of one fishing, fishing in the Sun's warm embrace, it's there, ahead, it awaits in a fast approaching golden horizon.....

Rod, reel, father and son in calm life-filled waters...in pursuit of a wild salmon for dinner, plentiful bounty for all, including many Winter Spring Salmon to feed a hungry pod of Southern Killer Whales...The Orca.

These magnificent creatures are very fussy eaters, they're not fond of Chum Salmon, Coho or even Sockeye, it's Spring Salmon they want, and need, these big Salmon are also known as Chinook Salmon, they grow the largest, in some cases exceeding a 100 lbs plus....However, those giant Salmon are now rare...Chinook Salmon in the 20 to 50 pound range are the New norm..

I've written before of my joyous fishing escapades with my best friend, my departed dad...So many days drift fishing, so many stories of success, and failure, i've also written about the decline of all marine species, my once bountiful watery front yard is a mere shadow of itself, run after run of Wild Salmon are no more, each individual British Columbia river had it's own Salmon, same species but unique to each individual river.....Massive 100 lb plus Salmon that once returned in big numbers to Rivers Inlet...Why that particular river had such giant Salmon is somewhat of a mystery, a good fishing friend who was raised near that River Eden tells me the Salmon there were so large because of the River gravel, very large gravel, thus only the biggest and strongest of the returning Salmon could spawn....Weaker Salmon got weeded out..

Those Salmon runs are gone...Northern Coho Salmon runs, gone, so many individual runs have vanished, wiped out by bad commercial fishing practices, bad logging and industrial activity..and it's not just the Salmon that are vanishing, lingcod, Rockfish and most ocean bottom dwellers in steep decline, all now so scarce, even our once vast kelp forests have shrunken to near nothing..

I haven't fished lately and to be honest the last few times I fished more were released than kept..

The Blackfish, the mighty Southern Killer Whale...Orca are starving, it's bad enough with industry activity taking more and more from our environment but to see and hear of Orca starving to death makes me cry....Yes, some Salmon runs in bigger rivers still at times produce healthy returns but, Sockeye and Chum Salmon won't suffice, either will evasive escaped farmed Atlantic Salmon...Another deathblow to BC's Wild Salmon...

Howe Sound once so plentiful with Salmon, now barren, the beautiful Sunshine Coast had so many Coho, in my youth there were times when literally walls of Coho Salmon passed, so abundant you could look in the ocean and see schools of Coho zipping past....Herring spawns, black-cod, hake and sharks aplenty...Those abundant glory days have long since passed....and the decline continues everyday, year after year there are fewer fish, fewer species, less kelp....less life.

Corporate pocketed governments allowed hideous fishfarms to poison our waters, with all the mounting evidence.... even our current NDP government sits on their hands..punting any meaningful restorative action years into the future to a time when those governing now will be long gone, and we can't wait the Orca can't wait, they're are starving...Toxic disease laden evasive farmed Atlantic Salmon being reared in waters where they don't belong...Wild Salmon in Norway, extinct, Wild Salmon off South America's ocean have suffered the same decimation due to Farmed Atlantic Salmon...Lice filled open nets, a dead wasted ocean bottom underneath each and every Salmon farm....And still our elected leaders sit on their lobbyist greased hands..

My lifetime is only part way done, yet in that short period of time our British Columbia Oceans are near dead...

I mentioned the NEB announced that they believe the TMX tarsand bitumen pipeline is in the National interest even though, with a somber tone that GHG emissions will rise and more hardship will befall the once mighty and already struggling for life Orca whale...

Justin Trudeau with his warm smile promotes, promises and insists that this pipeline is needed to fight climate change, even with thousands of scientists from a myriad of angles all telling us that we have 12 years to stop this fossil fuel suicide or it will be too late to do anything....Yet Justin Trudeau smiles and grins and blusters that a carbon tax will make Earth's climate all better....Yet sane minds, my mind can't be strangled into believing a massive increase in tarsand bitumen tankers to service a monstrosity pipeline for the next 40 years can do anything but harm even more...

The NEB also mused about the potential, albeit not guaranteed bitumen tanker-spill and how it would be  "Catastrophic" to BC's coastline....I'm not alone in believing that a large spill in our southern waters will be the final death-knell for not only the Orca but for our wild Salmon too..

How many land animals have become extinct over the last 20 years, how many birds species, fish species have vanished and how on earth can any ethical government look me, or look any of earth's inhabitants in the eye and say a bitumen pipeline's economic benefits outweigh a Species right to exist..

My gawd Justin Trudeau, do you not feel do you not bleed not think about preserving life, preserving unique species, for once intelligent emotional family protecting Orca are gone can Mankind itself be very far behind..

The needs of many species outweigh the needs of the few, or the one, man.....

Canada doesn't need this destructive project, we will survive as a nation, Alberta will persevere, a future vision, a new direction will present itself we only need to open our eyes open our minds and embrace the Sun's warm energetic embrace..

Man's answer warms our planet everyday, enough energy filters down from the skies above to run everything...

We have no more time...there is no world oil shortage, we aren't saving future generations from a energy freeze by not shipping targoop to Asia...

My Dad isn't gone he lives within me, guiding me prodding me demanding I speak up demanding we search out and elect a real leader who won't govern for the next political term but govern wisely for generations not yet born,,,,

Justin Trudeau is not that leader......either is Rachel Notley, Jason Kenney or John Horgan....

If only we could hear the Orca's voice......Therein lies the answer....

Steelhead LNG is Wanting the BC Government to Build them a pipeline to Vancouver Island's Westcoast using taxpayer dollars

Written by Grant G

As many of you must have heard......Steelhead LNG has stopped all activity at their proposed "Floating LNG plant" Sarita Bay location.

This is not a surprise, this proposal was always a ponzi scheme, a pump and dump operation...

Contrary to media reports, Steelhead LNG is NOT an LNG company, they have no assets, no lng infrastructure, they have no part of any energy operation, as such they have no revenue...

Steelhead LNG is a group of people(Swindlers) looking for investors to buy in, to purchase everything, that now includes Nigel Kuzemko CEO/Executive Chairman asking the B.C. government to build a pipeline(s) and deliver gas to their very westcoast location, on the taxpayers dime...

(Pictured above is Nigel Kuzemko)

Here is their website....

http://www.steelheadlng.com/

Here is what I wrote about Steelhead LNG group in 2015...

________

"A fool and their money soon part ways".....
Seems to me that every time devastating news on the world LNG front rears its head out comes a British Columbia made LNG spin story, yesterday was no different, articles and newscasts came out blazing, ...The proponent,...Steelhead LNG

Steelhead`s proposal, a floating LNG operation at Sarita Bay, on Vancouver Island's Westcoast.. a $30 billion dollar LNG liquefaction plant...the nearest town of size is Port Alberni....but it's a long rugged way there..

 http://www.vancouversun.com/news/metro/Floating+plant+proposed+Saanich+Inlet/11305428/story.html

This proposal will never happen, never be built, a foolish pipedream, ...Steelhead LNG is not an energy company, they have no assets, they own no LNG facilities, they own no upstream drill properties, Steelhead LNG is a group of people, including BC Liberal Geoff Plant, and some other people with expertise in the energy game, but to be clear they have no financial means to back up their silly proposal..

I feel bad for Vancouver Island First Nations who have drank the LNG koolaid...

Steelhead LNG proposes a pipeline from northeast British Columbia to our southern B.C. coastline, from there another pipeline on the bottom of the Georgia Straight, from there a pipeline to cross Vancouver Island to BC`s wild west coast, (Sarita Bay)...In Sarita Bay Steelhead LNG proposes building a $30 billion dollar liquefaction plant,......

This project will never happen, for two reason, the first being the risk to tourism, to salmon, to life itself....

The second reason why the project will never happen is money, Steelhead has no financial means and no bank or money lender will ever sanction such an expense on a company with nothing, no assets, no revenue....

_________________

Steelhead LNG used First Nations as pawns in this scheme, all the talk of bringing economic benefit to this very westcoast First Nation....Too bad many in the nation drank the kool aid..

The problem with Steelhead's proposal is twofold, logistics and money...they have no money, no revenue (outside of duped investors)...Steelhead grifters were hoping to seed this project with scant dollars, big announcements and First Nation pawns...pretend the project was a go-ahead until it wasn't, then lean on the BC Government to expend $billions on multiple pipelines and deliver gas to their very pristine rural westcoast location...

Steelhead's proposal would require three pipelines...one pipeline to bring BC's natural gas from Northeast B.C. to the coast...Then lay another pipeline under the Georgia Straight(Salish Sea)...Then build another pipeline across Vancouver Island's rugged untamed terrain to the very West Coast, to Sarita Bay in Barkley Sound....

Three pipelines, estimated pipeline costs.....$12 to $14 billion dollars....Steelhead LNG now wants the B.C.- John Horgan Government to build these, pay for these and deliver the gas to Steelhead's 100% Chinese built (on a huge barge) "floating facility" located three pipelines away on Vancouver Island's very West Coast...

That is laughable, and that was always Steelhead's plan...dupe some fools, dupe some government to deliver BC natural gas on a platter to Steelhead's chosen site..!

What makes Steelhead's proposal so stupid, so economically un-viable is...A floating facility could be placed anywhere...Steelhead could move their floating facility to Prince Rupert, thus requiring only one on-land natural gas pipeline..saving the company many $billions of dollars...

Nigel Kuzemko CEO/Executive Chairman of Steelhead LNG has not even considered this alternative, instead Nigel Kuzemko today on Global BC news stated....There is poor investment sentiment in BC and he would like to see the BC Government partner with industry to build pipelines..
There it is folks...The ponzi scheme's last plank...rev up the media, explain none of the logistical and economic blocks..rev up First Nations on Vancouver Island's Westcoast...promise all this economic prosperity to First Nations...make all these premature milestone announcements how this "floating LNG terminal" is advancing and then....
And then spring it on the media, spring it on Government, tell the bad news to the "duped" First Nations and then let it simmer..then go back to the media and tell them all can be salvaged if the B.C. Government delivers the gas, builds the pipelines, rips up Vancouver Island's rugged and super natural terrain and delivers us natural gas....
And if the BC Government was stupid enough to actually do it...Then Steelhead's LNG group of ponzi scammers could raise enough capital to actually purchase a 100% Chinese made floating LNG liquefaction terminal and reap the rewards..
of all the media reports on this...from Bloomberg, the CBC..Global..Alaska Highway News, Times Colonist, only one report(besides The Straight Goods) is even close to being accurate...That was
Alberni Valley News....here is what they reported..
"Steelhead LNG manager of communications Matt Skinner said the decision to cease work on the Kwispaa project comes down to economics. “Given the current environment in B.C., investors really need a greater degree of certainty before investing in a project such as ours,” he said Monday. “We’ve paused (work) on Kwispaa for now and are evaluating.”
He said unlike larger energy companies, Steelhead does not have revenue to depend on to fund projects such as Kwispaa. “Steelhead is funded by investors.”
He said last week’s throne speech by the B.C. government had no bearing on Steelhead’s decision. “It comes down to the challenges that exist in getting funding for these kinds of activities.”
Steelhead had already completed preliminary engineering on Kwispaa and was to begin detailed design work in early 2019. The first phase of Kwispaa was estimated to be $10 billion, with the second phase costing an additional $10 billion. This would not have included a pipeline, which was a separate part of the LNG project.
Huu-ay-aht will evaluate what the decision will mean to their business plans in the coming days and said they will update their citizens with more information at the end of February.
“Huu-ay-aht remains committed to pursuing initiatives for meaningful economic reconciliation where we create opportunities to generate value in a global context and create employment and revenue opportunities locally,” Dennis Sr. and Peters wrote.
Skinner said Steelhead LNG has not completely pulled out of the deal, but there are no plans to continue forward at this time.
“At this point we’ve ceased work. That’s not to say it will never move forward but right now we’ve ceased working on (Kwispaa).”
_____________________
Steelhead LNG can remove these expensive pipeline issues by locating to Prince Rupert...Kitimat..Dish Cove, Ridley Island...But they're not...This was always a pump and dump scam...either that or they thought by conning First Nations, promising economic prosperity, announcing a series of milestones crossed they could convince a naive BC Government to expend $billions of dollars to deliver natural gas to a fly-by-night group of private investors without a pot to piss in.....

Because....A floating facility could and can be located just about anywhere, anyone with money or money guarantees can order a floating LNG liquefaction facility, all one needs is money...The most difficult, and most expensive part of Steelhead's proposal was the PIPELINE(s) issues and environmental assessments, three pipeline require three environmental assessments...a mainland pipeline route, a underwater pipeline route and a Vancouver Island pipeline crossing route...those pipelines are the logistical nightmare, those issues needed to be resolved first...and the fact that Steelhead did the reverse first, garnering First Nation support..convincing a community, selling economical miracles and only then saying....Oh my god, how can we get gas, and who will build and pay for these three pipeline projects.....The gig is up Steelhead....

My sincere condolences to the Huu-ay-aht First Nation......Time to move on to something real, and sustainable..

This project is dead....To those investors who actually put up the seed money to these con artists..I have one thing to say to you..

"A fool and their money soon part ways"

Breaking, Another BC LNG Project Dies...Steelhead LNG, an LNG proposal that was Dead the Day it was announced

Bamfield...The land Time Forgot....Bamfield area should never have been proposed for a massive giant polluting LNG terminal..

http://powellriverpersuader.blogspot.com/2009/09/bamfield-land-time-forgot.html

This good news is...Steelhead LNG died it's inevitable Death..

This is no surprise.....another B.C. LNG proposal bites the dust...

February 18/2019.......

It's official......The LNG ponzi scheme known as Steelhead LNG is now dead and buried....This outfit had no money, no other LNG business, this was a group hoping to try and OTHERS to drop cash into their ridiculous project...Steelhead LNG wanted investors to pay $billions for everything while they merely reap the profits without spending any of their own money...This proposal, as I wrote was always a pump n dump scam that was never viable....They were proposing a floating facility on the West Coast near beautiful Bamfield...a wind swept paradise near the Broken Group of Islands...They proposed a pipeline from NE BC...all the way to Powell River, than another pipeline across the Georgia Straight(Salish Sea)...than another pipeline across Vancouver Island..through untamed land, mountains, river and valleys....The pipeline crossings..three in total would have cost $15 billion dollars....the proposal was so pathetic, considering they were proposing a "floating facility built in China/South Korea...barged to BC and hooked up to a pipeline...what made the proposal so mind-numbing stupid...a sloating facility could have been placed in Prince Rupert, or Kitimat and save $10 billion dollars...I knew that nobody, no fool would ever bankroll this stupidity...

The sad part of this whole episode...Vancouver Island First Nations were strung along, used as pawns, promised monies and prosperity, dozens of town hall meeting were conducted, votes among the nation were conducted, it created friction and divided the nation...Those wanting to preserve paradise against those who drank the kool aid...those that drank will now have to bow their heads and come back to reality...

The LNG curse continues...this madness needs to stop, we have a planet to protect...John Horgan is a kool aid drinker too....He's about to announce more gifts to LNG Canada...LNG Canada is second guessing the project and once again are asking for even more taxpayer dole....Not only that."LNG is a bridge fuel too far"......BC will only lose money on LNG Canada's $3 billion dollar ONLY investment in BC....not $40 billion....

Steelhead LNG has stopped work on the Kwispaa LNG project in Sarita Bay on Vancouver Island’s west coast, throwing the project into doubt.

Huu-ay-aht First Nations Chief Councillor Robert Dennis Sr. and Hereditary Chief Derek Peters posted an open letter to its citizens on Feb. 15 saying that they had been notified by Steelhead LNG about the stoppage and are “deeply disappointed” in the announcement.
“We are saddened by the decision of Steelhead LNG. Huu-ay-aht First Nations is a self-governing, modern treaty Nation, and we will continue to pursue our vision of establishing a healthy, prosperous and self-sustaining community, based on our three sacred principles: Hisuk ma cawak (everything is one), ?uu?aluk (taking care of…) and ?iisaak (greater respect),” Dennis Sr. and Peters wrote.
Steelhead LNG manager of communications Matt Skinner said the decision to cease work on the Kwispaa project comes down to economics. “Given the current environment in B.C., investors really need a greater degree of certainty before investing in a project such as ours,” he said Monday. “We’ve paused (work) on Kwispaa for now and are evaluating.”

We will discuss the myriad of economical reasons, and environmental reasons to kill Site C....we'll delve into how we got here..the hideous BC Liberal 2004 Clean Energy Act....a brutal piece of legislation that was rammed through our legislature by a BC Liberal majority...."The Clean Energy Act" not only shut the door on the BCUC reviewing Site C...The "clean energy act" also forced BC Hydro to buy inflated IPP run of river power while simultaneously preventing BC Hydro from building any of their own run of river projects....Site C..The boondoggle...It was the BC Liberals' "Clean Energy Act" that set the stage in bankrupting BC Hydro..and set the stage for skyrocketing electricity rates, and set the stage for shutting out everyone, including the BCUC on reviewing Site C.....

Steelhead LNG pulls out of proposed Malahat LNG project in Saanich Inlet

"Steelhead LNG will no longer be looking at building a floating LNG processing plant on Malahat First Nation owned Bamberton industrial lands.
The project was announced for the Saanich Inlet south of Mill Bay in August of 2015.
The proposed floating liquefaction facility moored to shore would have had capacity to process up to six million tonnes of LNG per year.
It immediately proved controversial garnering stiff opposition including from other First Nations in the area.
Late Friday, Steelhead LNG confirmed it is no longer moving ahead with the project.
A statement on the Malahat LNG website reads,
“Steelhead LNG made the decision after careful consideration and based on several factors as
we look to develop a project that delivers low-cost LNG that is globally competitive.”
It was estimated at the time it was announced that, when fully operational,  the project would would create 30 years of revenue for the Malahat Nation and would create 200 full-time jobs.
“Steelhead LNG would like to thank and acknowledge the many Malahat members who contributed more than 2,200 hours of work as Field Assistants on the early environmental studies,” the statement reads.
The company did say it continues to pursue another LNG project on Vancouver Island near Port Alberni."

"A fool and their money soon part ways".....

Seems to me that every time devastating news on the world LNG front rears its head out comes a British Columbia made LNG spin story, yesterday was no different, articles and newscasts came out blazing, ...The proponent,...Steelhead LNG

Steelhead`s proposal, a floating LNG operation near Mill Bay on Vancouver Island and a $30 billion dollar LNG liquefaction plant in Port Alberni..

 http://www.vancouversun.com/news/metro/Floating+plant+proposed+Saanich+Inlet/11305428/story.html

This project will never happen, for two reason, the first being the risk to tourism, to salmon, to life itself, the canal is too small and too windy to ever have that kind of operation approved..

The second reason why the project will never happen is money, Steelhead has no financial means and no bank or money lender will ever sanction such an expense on an industry gone/going bust."

____________

For those interested....Here is how Gordon Campbell's "Clean Energy Act" has severely crippled BC Hydro's financial position....

Gordon Campbell in about 2004 mandated by the act that BC Hydro become self sufficient in power needs....BC Liberals argued at the time that BC Hydro was a net importer of power, ...Clean Energy Act mandated that BC Hydro become self sufficient...

That though depends on how you interpret the importing and exporting of electricity...

What BC Hydro has done successfully for decades(until BC Liberals messed everything up)...was sell power at peak pricing and import almost free power at night from neighboring jurisdictions...BC Hydro would let all their storage capacity build up at night...then sell at peak periods PST 5pm to 9pm....BC Hydro would buy almost free power at night, the reason..Alberta's grid power..N Dakota grid power doesn't shut off at night, these jurisdictions must either dump the power they're producing for nothing/free or sell it dirt cheap to any and all takers....

BC Hydro would use their storage advantage.....save storage and sell at peak to California and other points south...this worker out very well for BC Hydro and their ratepayers....

Clean Energy Act put an end to that practice....The Act mandated BC Hydro have all the power they need without buying cheap imported late night grid power....

The Clean Energy Act did something else.... By law, BC Hydro was prevented in building any of the new supply of power they needed.....The ACT strictly prohibited BC Hydro from building anything except Site C...so..energy tenders were sent, and BC Hydro was forced to buy energy from lucrative run of river contracts..guaranteed returns for 60 to 100 years...BC Hydro can do run of river..it is simple technology, ..divert river water through tunnels or pipes with generators then water returns to the river...simple technology, ..rather than BC Hydro build themselves...a goldrush set off in the run of river game, BC Liberal insiders made out like bandits....BC Hydro was shaken down by bandits...

$100s of million per year in losses...now BC Hydro starts deferring debt..today, $6 billion plus in deferred BC Hydro debt/ratepayer debt...

Clean Energy Act did more....The Act mandated that Burrard thermal shutdown...that is/was our emergency nat-gas power supply..used only sparingly for winter peaking..Burrard thermal was upgrade and is one of the clean gas burners in the world....

BC Hydro could no longer use Burrard thermal, that power too had to be replaced...more run of river, more BC Hydro debt..

as of now, IPP run of river power accounts for 25% of BC's electrical grid but consumes 75% of BC Hydro's revenues!...

However...back when the Clean Energy Act was written...BC Liberals knew not of LNG...LNG, the $trillion dollar prosperity windfall, that gimmick arrived in BC in 2012 under Christy Clark...not only was BC going to get filthy rich...They told us we will clean Asia's airshed with our "clean LNG"...

That's right, ..when the Clean Energy Act was written...BC Liberals called gas power plants dirty...now their regardless as clean....Think about it...We as a province, even today tout the benefits of clean LNG...Yet the Clean Energy Act precludes it's use in BC...and the BCUC was not allowed to consider LNG(natural gas) as an energy replacement source for Site C...

We could build a Clean burning natural gas power plant anywhere in the province, the cost would be less than $2 billion dollars and produce more firm power than Site C...! fact.

So..right now the Clean Energy Act is hamstringing both John Horgan and the BCUC.....

It do't have to be that way....

Clean Energy Act also set out out GHG reduction laws....By law, BC must reduce GHG levels by 33% of 2007 levels by 2020.....That was the law...

Back to that LNG thingy....Guess what the BC Liberals did in their last year in office....They of course were chasing LNG prospects..that didn't turn out to well...but, nevertheless, If Petronas hbuilt..or Chevron had built their proposed LNG liquefaction plant....They were going to be burning natural gas to create power..Petronas would have added 25% to BC's entire provincial emission's level on it's own...

So...BY by law...BC had to reduce our GHG levels by 33% of 2007 levels by 2020.....if we had 2 le LNG plants our emissions would have gone up by 50%....as of 2016...BC had not reduced GHG emissions at all...4 years til 2020 and we are not going to reach that target..if LNG came to BC...targets not missed, targets blown away...

What were the BC Liberals to do?....Simple...Last year the BC Liberals used their majority, and that GHG 2020 reduction law contained withing the Clean Energy Act was taken out..removed, gutted..the LAW was amended to new a reduction target date..that being 2050...

In other words...When the Clean Energy Act got in the way of LNG...When GHG reductions were not going to be meant...what did the BC Liberals do....They amended The Clean Energy Act...

John Horgan can do the same...Burrard thermal can be used for winter peaking if needed...BC Hydro should be able to buy almost free late night power...BC Hydro needs to go back to the old ways of making money....

There is no way in the world British Columbia can tout LNG as the cleanest burning fuel, promote it..yet tell the world BC is too good for natural gas power.....No, government of BC can't say no to natural gas, for if, ....for if BC gets a big LNG pl or two....they'll be burning natural gas by the bucket loads to chill natural gas down to a liquid(LNG)....An LNG liquefaction will be BC's highest single point GHG emitter...

What does a new NDP government need to do?...they need to amend Gordon Campbell's hamstringing Clean Energy Act.....get it out of the way and go KILL SITE C..

Batting a 1000% friends....let's keep this party going..

Keith Baldrey,Michael Smyth,Sean Leslie,STOOGES

This article was posted by me March 14th/2010......9 years ago...Today, February 13th/2019...Vaughn Palmer finally reported on the crimes the BC Liberals foisted on BC Hydro ratepayer..and wild salmon....the thing is..Where was Vaughn Palmer a decade ago...how come I knew, Norm Farrell....but Vaughn Palmer legislative reporter didn't?...Vaughn knew..so did Bill Good and Keith Baldrey..and Michael Smyth...they all knew of the IPP run of river crimes..Those stooges had their Canwest(now Post Media) corporate marching orders..and they had their heads firmly stuck up Gordon Campbell's asshole....Here is what Palmer reported tonight(Feb/13/2019)

 https://vancouversun.com/opinion/columnists/vaughn-palmer-ratepayers-zapped-by-hydro-report-that-reveals-shocking-interference?utm_term=Autofeed&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1550114471

Not just me...and Norm Farrell....John Calvert wrote a book on these crimes to..in 2007..Liquid Gold

Liquid Gold

Energy Privatization in British Columbia

By John Calvert
"John Calvert shows how BC’s successful public energy system is being supplanted by a deregulated private electrical system. This will effectively transfer control of the system to private interests. It will also expose BC ratepayers to the risks and uncertainties associated with the United States energy market as BC’s system in gradually integrated into the larger Pacific northwest transmission grid–a grid largely controlled by US energy corporations."

Vaughn Palmer..Keith Baldrey..Bill Good..Sean Leslie....Michael Smyth...STOOGES

Three individuals who have betrayed the public, three legislative reporters who are negligent in their duty to report facts, three stooges who I believe have financial motivation to not disclose serious information to the tax paying public.

What am I talking about, I`m talking about IPPs,private power buying contracts, these three individuals are well aware of Gordon Campbell`s obsession to privatize our public power, back in 2002 Gordon Campbell by cabinet order made it illegal for BC Hydro to generate new power sources with the exception of upgrading existing heritage power sources, other than upgrades BC Hydro was shut out, Gordon Campbell said that all new power must come from private IPPs.

And it`s my opinion that these legislative reporters knowing how stubborn and obtuse Gordon Campbell is, rather than report the probable negative results from these actions, they decided to buy in to private power IPPs, it`s no secret that Naikun Power and especially Plutonic power`s new directors and staff are almost all former BC Liberals from the Gordon Campbell administration, and of course Keith Baldrey,Sean Leslie and Michael Smyth are aware of this, yet they never ever report it, don`t you think this is something the public has a right to know? I DO!.....(read about all the BC Liberals that have gone to work for Plutonic Power here)
http://www.sqwalk.com/bc2009/001652.html

Of course Sean Leslie,Keith Baldrey,Vaughn Palmer,Michael Smyth must be familiar with or have met at one time or another all these BC Liberals that are now working for Plutonic power?

It would very alarming if these legislative reporters bought stock in these IPPs and for whatever reasons failed to report the whole story, that would be negligence or worse, indeed that would be SHOCKING, I don`t know for sure if they have bought stock in these companies,I am attempting to find out.

Here`s the deal, Gordon Campbell and his government have lied so many times I have lost track, from selling BC Rail, tearing up contracts, and even very recently with the HST lie,the budget deficit lie, and all the social cuts they have made, lie after lie after lie, every MLA from the Campbell government are complicit in the lies, yet no matter how many times Gordon Campbell lies every time Gordon Campbell comes up with another statement or plan those above individuals act like it`s the truth, they act like Gordon Campbell is trustworthy, you know friends,if you are in a court of law and you lie once and get caught the court can dismiss anything further statements you make as lies, but if you lied over and over again the court would tell the jury to disregard any statements from the said liar.

But that`s not the case with legislative reporters, it`s a tight knit group in Victoria, and if those legislative reporters are aware of the mass exodus from Government present and former all heading to Plutonic power and Naikun the above legislative reporters should know that the fix is in, because that`s what it is, a fix.

Today on the Sean Leslie show Sean compared IPPs to the forestry industry, Sean said that private forestry companies sell lumber to the USA so is that any different than private IPPs selling electricity to the USA, that is the most ridiculous argument I have ever heard,of course Sean Leslie had on the head of Citizens for Green power, a BC Liberal front group promoting IPPs.......,IPPS are big donors to the BC Liberals, in fact they have donated roughly $1 million dollars since 2002 to the BC Liberals, Sean Leslie also had on a spokesperson for Citizens for public power, but from the listening I did,Sean Leslie was in full support for IPPs and argued in favour and agreement with Bruce Sanderson from citizens for green power.

I want to discuss the phony argument Sean Leslie made, where he said what`s the difference between IPPs selling electricity to the USA and private forestry companies selling lumber to the USA......Listen up Sean Leslie.......Private forestry companies don`t have the BC government guarantee a price for their logs triple the going rate for 30 years, that`s the difference, forestry companies get paid what the market will bear, they have no guarantees, if the price collapses forestry companies lose money, if the price of lumber skyrockets they can make money, there are no guarantees,NONE.....Where as the IPPs, the only way they can get money to build the power generation on our rivers is if BC Hydro,an arm of the Provincial Government gives them a 30 to 40 year guaranteed price, once they have the contract they go to the banking world and borrow money and build, there are no private companies(IPPs) that use their own money to build power generation, if they had to use their money, had no lucrative guarantee, had to go fend for themselves on the spot electrical market, they wouldn`t be here at all! So for Sean Leslie and citizens for green power trying to use that comparison, the comparison of private forestry to private power, my god, that just reeks of desperateness!

Presently the spot market for electricity is about $40 to $50 dollars, yet BC Hydro has signed deals for $120 dollars for this power, BC Hydro cannot refuse to buy this power, once they sign the contract they have to buy the power for that price, yet all this IPP power is for export, so what happens when we sell it.

If we buy power for $120 dollars and sell it for $40 dollars we lose a fortune, and,the best electrical power forecasters in the game don`t believe electric prices to go that high for decades, in fact all of our top power traders have quit PowerX and gone to work for Morgan Stanley power trading division, these traders get performance bonuses for making BC Hydro/Government profits,no profit,no bonuses, so they left.quit, adios, the head traders were making 1/2 million dollar plus yearly pay cheques, why would they leave, because with trading losses there will be no bonuses. (read about the top BC power traders quiting PowerX and moving to Morgan Stanley here)http://www.vancouversun.com/business/Toyota+recall+Prius+hybrids+worldwide/2540019/Powerex+traders+jump+rival/2475855/story.html

So I ask you faithful readers why Sean Leslie,Keith Baldrey, Michael Smyth,Vaughn Palmer, why have not one of those legislative reporters reported the obvious...

Sean Leslie,Michael Smyth,Keith Baldrey,Vaughn Palmer.....I have a question for you stooges...

What happens when we buy export power from Plutonic Power for $120 dollars and sell it for $40 dollars on the spot market? Well boys, what happens? Do we not lose lots of money?

You see friends, those 4 stooges can believe in their own mind that electricity will rise to that rate and above, anyone is entitled to a faith-based belief, but it is the responsilbility of the legislative reporters to tell all of BC what happens if the spot market doesn`t rise up, since their silence is deafening let me fill you on what will happen, We lose our shirts boys, that`s what happens.

So when these legislative reporters fail to inform the public I get suspicious, I get the feeling that they have bought into these companies looking for a killing,a killing at the expense of the BC Taxpayer, that`s what I think.

And I can hear their arguments already, Sean Leslie and the spokesperson touched on it today on his Sunday show, they said, states like California are mandated to buy 33% of their power from Green renewable power sources by 2020, well, that may well be true, but here in lies the rub, all 4 of those stooges are aware of the fact that the California senate has ruled that these mega run of river projects in BC are not green, the environmental footprint, habitat destruction and fish hydrology problems are too large for these projects to be considered Green Energy, and my dear friend bitter Brian has called into the Sean Leslie show and the cutting ledge show on Fridays and said as much about the ruling from the California Senate!(read about the California senate rejecting big run of river projects here)http://communities.canada.com/vancouversun/blogs/energy/archive/2009/04/02/british-columbia-green-power-faces-battle-in-california.aspx

Yet Sean Leslie,Michael Smyth,Keith Baldey,Vaughn Palmer, not one of those legislative reporters have told the public about the ruling by the California senate,to my recolection,if they have I have never seen it,California senate has stated that Hydro electric renew ables must be 30 megawatts or less, some of the run of river projects in BC are over 1000 megawatts, they divert multiple river systems for miles, hundreds of miles of roads, thousand of miles of transmission lines, dozens if not hundreds of bridges, fish bearing streams diverted into pipes full of turbines which means certain death to fish, fish that bears, eagles, and the whole eco system relies on.

So Keith Baldrey,Vaughn Palmer,Sean Leslie,Michael Smyth, how come none of you legislative reporters have told the public about the ruling from the California senate? How come indeed?

Sean Leslie, how is a guaranteed price for 30 to 40 years from the taxpayers of BC at triple the going spot electrical market the same as private forestry companies selling at the world lumber price that goes up and down, look how well our forestry companies are doing, Chinese imports have crushed the price of lumber, the housing market in the USA is flat,we have lost 30,000 thousand forestry jobs under Gordon Campbell, what would happen Sean Leslie if the BC government guaranteed triple the going rate for lumber for private forestry companies for decades, would we not be losing a fortune Sean Leslie?

Let me answer that question for you....Of course we would lose a fortune, are you that stupid Sean Leslie? Or do you have another motive for promoting IPPs without telling the public of the inherent risk?

And lets look at the Bute inlet proposed Green Renewable power project Sean Leslie.

Lets see, 17 fish bearing streams being diverted into pipes for miles and miles, pipes with turbines in them, gee Sean, that doesn`t sound too fish friendly does it? 450 kilometers of transmission lines, 320 kilometers of roads, 16 power houses, substations, over a hundred bridges, all in a pristine area full of bears, eagles all relying on fish to survive, is that Green power Sean? Will California buy that power for a premium?

Here is the deal stooges, California won`t pay a premium for power that isn`t green renewable power, that means we will lose a fortune on this power, and there is that other little problem all of you stooges have failed to mention, this run of river power comes on line in the spring freshet, guess what boys, that is when hydro electric demand is at its lowest in California, they`re not running their air conditioners then, and that is the same time that all of BC Hydro`s dams are full of water, historically that is the time of year when electricity is at its cheapest.

But you failed to agree with your guest from Citizens for PUBLIC power when she brought that up today, why is that Sean, have you and you fellow legislative reporters got something going on?(read how big the so-called Green IPP in Bute is here)http://www.watershedsentinel.ca/content/environmental-assessments-farce

And lets wrap this up with one more little tid-bit, Sean Leslie, you had Blair Leckstrom on today, and all you did was bob your head in agreement, no tough questions, no nothing, Blair Leckstrom continued the Government spin about BC being a net importer of power, well guess what Sean Leslie, the top traders at POWERX made us a fortune every year trading power, they let our heritage dams fill with water, and Alberta that has gas powered electricity that doesn`t shut off,in the middle of the night theAlberta power and Montana power is dirt cheap, there is no demand at that time of day, so insted of using our dam power we buy that dirt cheap and leave our heritage dam power for when we can charge a big buck to California, like at dinner time or summertime when their air conditioners are running,it`s a win win situation for BC Hydro, but not no more, now we know why the top-traders at PowerX left.

And there`s more, Blair Leckstrom in saying we are a net importer of power, fails to mention the Columbia treaty power we could use,or the Teck Comenco power that is exported, because in Fact Sean Leslie we are a net exporter of power. There are so many domestic sources of Hydro Electric power that have been omitted from the tally, the bottom line stooges, we are a net exporter of power,(read about the export/import debate herehttp://www.sqwalk.com/bc2009/001560.html

That my friends is why I started this post telling you about the Habitual Liar Gordon Campbell, the premier has lied and lied and lied some more, and yet the 4 stooges have forgotten about all those lies and say, well Gordon Campbell must be telling the truth this time!
So I ask you 4 stooges, what kind of game are you playing, what is in it for you, how much IPP stock have you bought? How deep are you guys in? Is that why all four of you have failed to report any of these facts to the public?

So friends, faithful readers, why aren`t our legislative reporters telling us the truth, why the con, they are entitled to believe what they want, but they also have a responsibility to tell all BCers the facts, all the facts, not cherry pick and obfuscate and repeat the lies of the Campbell administration! If anyone wants to hear Sean Leslie making a fool out of himself comparing lucrative power buying contracts from IPPs guaranteed by the BC Government to private forestry selling lumber to the USA . (listen here on the cknw audio vault, cue up 3:00PM Sunday,March 14th)http://www.cknw.com/other/audiovault.html

I don`t know what is going on friends, either the entire media is in on some plot to deceive or a select bunch of insiders are selling out average BC folks down the river for personal gain, I know nothing for sure except all the facts above, if it doesn`t make sense it isn`t true! All of the above is an opinion piece,I don`t know if those 4 have bought stock in IPPs, but all the other facts with links are true, and the part about Gordon Campbell being an Habitual Liar is true, you decide. What other possible reason could there be for those legislatives reporters to not report the above facts?

The deletion of facts, the denial, the obfuscation, the non-existent reporting from the four Stooges is "Deafening" and that speaks volumes to me!
