Keith Baldrey Confirms that Gordon Campbell Will Not Open the Legislature Until 2011

Breaking News.......Keith Baldrey on CKNW confirms what we already knew, Gordon Campbell again is not holding a fall session of the B.C. Legislature!Baldrey made the statement about 9:07 am

You can listen to the CKNW audio vault here

Cue up August 20/9:00 am.....Baldrey makes the statement shortly after the 9:00 am news.

And in other news Gordon Campbell`s ex Attorney General Geoff Plant who was representing big industry got slamma jamma hammered in court.....WE WON...(round 1).

It looks like Christy Cluck Cluck Clark`s legal opinion and assessment was flawed, last week Cluck Clark stated (On air) that Geoff Plant`s law suit.........(Geoff plant was Gordon Campbell`s attorney General, it was Geoff Plant who wrote the opinion piece on which the big business law suit was based on and Geoof Plant was representing big businss along with Peter Gall).......... in her opinion has merit and Vander Zalm`s doesn`t, gotcha again Christy Cluck Cluck Clark, Christy Cluck I think you should stick to watching the pathetic show Manswers on Spike TV(Christy cluck Clark stated on air that Manswers is her favorite television show) and leave legal opinions to the educated people of this Province!...

And here I wait patiently for the next ruling to come down, whether the imposition of the tax is even constitutional, as you know the BC Legislature never did vote on the HST, is was done through secrecy and stealth in Gordon Campbell`s office, in other words the tax was imposed through fiat, that my friends is illegal according to our Canadian constitution.

I expect the Campbell Goebbels propaganda machine(PAB) to get real busy spinning the news, they will talk about all the cuts to health, to education .....Oh My....We will have to pay back Ottawa all that money, oh the humanity, ........Well folks, we here at The Straight Goods have the answer, in fact I believe that there was a leaked story yesterday that has set the stage for Campbell`s next move........

The story was about ICBC, the timing of the story(the leak) is very suspicious to this persuader, apparantly ICBC has double the cash reserves for paying law suits and insurance claims that the industry standard require, any other `private` insurer by law would only need half the cash reserves that ICBC has, in fact private insurers reported that if there was auto insurance competition in this Province they would "eat ICBC`s lunch".....They would be able to have far far cheaper rates than what ICBC is delivering.....

So heres the deal folks, ICBC has cash reserves of $3.1 billion dollars, they at most need cash reserves of $1.55 billion dollars, it`s very obvious that ICBC has been over charging BCers, rates should be lowered, they would be lower if we had competition, but we don`t ........

Have a close look at those numbers folks, think about the timing, the day before the Zalm "SLAMMA JAMMAed" Geoff Plant and Gordon Campbell this ICBC story shows up....Suspicious no?

So, theorectically Gordon Campbell could scoop the ICBC cash($1.55 billion) and repay Ottawa, no cuts, no hole in the budget, "No passing on the debt to future generations".......Isn`t that what the "Habitual Liar Gordon Campbell" always says? And ICBC would still have $1.55 billion dollars of cash reserves, more than enough for all future claims.

The stage has been set friends, we have the money, no cuts, no adding to the deficit, no future burden on our starving children.....

Think outside of the box folks......We have the answer, Gordon Campbell has found himself an out, he better use it, because believe me, if Colin (Martian head) Hansen and Habitual Liar Gordon Campbell attempt to delay until spring "Recall in Fall" will prevail, mark my words! You can read the ICBC story here

And on a final note friends, what the hell are we paying politicians money for if their taking half the year off and not sitting in the people`s house, and just out of curiosity, MLA`s get a stipend of $21,000 dollars per year for accommodations, in other words they get money when the house sits, politicians from other parts of the Province have to stay somewhere when in Victoria, if the "People`s House" doesn`t sit than ALL monies for accomadations should be yanked, and that`s goes for Ida (lobster bisque)Chong too....No money for meals!!!!!

The utter and complete dishonesty of the Campbell government is now laid bare for all to see. The rearguard action by Plant and the Council of 'Liberal' Business should have been fined for wasting the courts time.

What we see now is sheer desperation and panic among Campbell's Fascist acolytes, who now see a growing public anger against their neo-Nazi tactics.

As for Cluck-cluck Clark, adiĆ³s baby, as you are now 'toxic' for BC politics.

The public must rise up and demand resignations; the public must rise up and demand a return of democracy.

Recall in the Fall is now not a faint hope, rather a sure thing and if Campbell attempts to thwart the public again, it's pitchfork time!

Not at all suprised. I wonder if there's any way to force an emergency fall session? Like, the budget emergency? The HST? That little problem we have with Breach of Public Trust? Perjury? Is it perjury to lie in the people's house?

In the end it will be CampBULL that loses. The drunk will not survive the recall. He will
go down and take many of his flunkies (MLA'S) with him. The process may be slow, however it is certain. My problem with the process is, who will replace him. The Liberal members are not at all qualified, nor is the leader of the NDP.
A new party perhaps?

Up to the usual tricks and if Campbell is looking to bring in the legislature in the new year there is a good chance Liberal MLA's will be gone by the spring. Who is first on the list, I'm guessing Heed because his campagain was just caught filled with dirty tricks.

Breaking News.......Keith Baldrey on CKNW confirms what we already knew, Gordon Campbell again is not holding a fall session of the B.C. Legislature!

We all know why, too!NO legislature sitting, no necessity to hold a vote on the AntiHST petition. Right? That said, I bet the legislative committee will choose the option of holding a voter's plebiscite next fall, assuming the public's fervor to rescind the tax will evaporate by then. Then they'll cancel the plebiscite.

These goons should have been tossed out a long time ago. Oh well so be it I guess, Recall is now very very serious this fall. It's going to be a bloodbath and Campbell and Co are toast, good riddance, I agree with other posters, the fall session should be an essential service hands down.

The dishonesty and deceit is downright disgraceful. I wish people would rise up and make some noise. The Liberals will drag their feet as much as possible look at the BC Rail scandal.
This arrogant premier has no intention of listening to the people; like a greedy pig at the trough he is lining his pockets with as much as possible before he’s out. I am surprised that he has not been put down yet by some common citizen who is just one of thousands of BCer’s that have been stripped down by all the of tax increases and program cuts.
BC has the lowest minimum wage, highest child poverty, highest drug addicts in all of Canada; do you believe? Best place on Earth sure if you are big business or off-shore. If you are off-shore you just buy and leave it empty they don’t even live here.

Give me a break, nobody has to pay back anything near 1.55 or 1.6 Billion. Gordo and Colon were so convinced they could cut enough services and arts/sports grants to deal with the deficit that they elected to only take 1/3 or maybe less, of Harper's bribe this year - I guess they would rather have an ugly deficit to point to while closing schools and hospital beds.

No sitting in the Fall, I think that is WONDERFUL - nothing good would come of it, it isn't as if the fence posts with hair would defeat the HST, and the asshole could use the opportunity to tweak the Recall Legislation right out of being of any use.

The worst news I heard all week was that the judge told butt-boy Craig to deliver the petition to the select committee. Campbell would be well advised to deal with the issue, but then his MLAs would have to show their true colours and who they swore an oath to uphold (Gordo and Big Business).

I don't know if the liaRs are their own worst enemy, cause I hate them with a bile too hot for mere thermometers - but they seem really prone to shoot themselves in the foot, ass and everywhere else these days.

I guess it's just a case of "what goes 'round, comes 'round!"

Kootcoot....I am aware that BC has only taken a dribble of the HST bribe money so far...

The point I was trying to make...

With the ICBC money available, over twice the requirement of what`s needed to cover current and future claims..

It throws one of Campbell`s and Hansen`s argument out the window....

Over and over again both of them have said, Palmer has said, Baldrey,Bill Good...all of the paid assholes have said....oooh, what about the all the service cuts if BC has to pay back the HST bribe!

I have merely given the NDP a solution to...As you say Kootcoot, a non-existent problem.

The province has thus far only accepted $250 Million.
That money was a gift. A signing bonus.Seed money. It doesn't need to be repaid. It was offered by the Feds to any province that would accept the HST. Anything that Campbell now accepts from Ottawa would, in my thoughts, be either graft or a bribe to accept the whole enchilada. Basi -Virk-Basi are experiencing what that means right now.Campbell is arrogant and stupid enough to do this. It is one of the main reasons why we need to recall as many Liberals as possible. We have to stop the madness.

Having worked pretty hard in the last few weeks to organize a recall in my riding, I have found that it will not be as easy as we may think. The only thing that makes anything easier in that realm is the way Campbell keeps shooting himself in the foot. Or the ass if you prefer.

To the last contributor whose comment I deleted, yes there were many invalidated signatures on the petition but...

There are countless reasons signatures were refused, wrong adress, wrong phone number, wrong riding, ineligible, unreadable, liberal sabateurs...

But that has no bearing on the results, the petition passed...

In other news today, inflation is up in Canada and the HST has been shown to be the cause, also stats Canada stated today that in BC hydro rates are up 36% year over year...

That because of rate increases and the nafarious 2 tier power charges, the 2 tier rate can`t be avoided by any home owner....

The HST lies have already been proven, prices rose, economic activity has slowed to a crawl, job losses everywhere...

The Economists were wrong, the HST is a bullshit rip-off scam designed to fatten big business bottom line....

F""$ Gordon Campbell!

Justice Bauman must be commended for letting the Legislature deal with the HST debacle. The last minute hail Mary thrown by the Howe Street mafia was nothing but a blatant attempt to thwart democracy.

The implementation of the HST by Campbell & Co. has nothing to do with deficits nor financing core government services. It is all about giving big business a gift of taxpayers money.

The ICBC announcement is suspicious to say the least. I think it was made to deflect attention from other issues, but also to shine a light on the profits there are to be made in the insurance game. One thing Campbell has not been able to accomplish is to rid us of ICBC. If he can convince a lot of us that ICBC is overcharging the masses by making excessive profits because of lack of competition, then he can pursue the re-introduction of private insurers. JUst think about it. What better way to turn public sentiment against ICBC but to make it out to be a money gouging entity.

This tactic is not much different as what he did with the liquor stores. Convince the masses that they are being screwed over by government enterprises. Why some of you may ask. It's really quite simple. ICBC and the LDB are staffed by union workers. The BC Liberal Party is opposed to unions.

I am convinced that the agenda of Gordon Campbell from the time he assumed the leadership of the BC Liberal Party was to rid the provincial government of public entities that are largely staffed by union employees. Hence the attack on the HEU, BC Hydro, the LDB, BC Rail, and now ICBC. I suspect this was a mandate he agreed to pursue in order to get financial support from his Howe Street cronies.

As an aside, I was amazed to find that on Global's early news the court decision on the court challenge to the FightHST initiative was nat reported on until halfway through their half-hour broadcast, and then on the late news, they never covered it until the second half of the broadcast. Curious to say the least.

Cam

PS.....Don't forget boycotting the companies that are members of the six associations that brought on the court challenge against the FightHST campaign. Recall is a ways off by legislation, but a boycott has no such constraints.

you couldnt have said it better once again against a man hell bent on destroying democracy only one thing you brought up i dont agree with(first time too) private insurance, ive lived in 2 other provinces with private insurance and 2 states and i have to tell you there is nothing like finding out from 15 different private insurance companies that for the same coverage there was almost $1000 difference in rates per year for the same policy. so im not a fan of private insurance been there done that.
so where is campbell hiding these days? i thought once the HST kicked he was supposed to going out amongst the voter dispelling all the HST myths out there and yet its more like he's in hiding. has the HST got him that scared?

IMHO the surplus sitting at ICBC should be returned to the people that paid the premiums..not go to general revenue to bail out the HST mess. If you think about the payback, it's not $1.6 Billion, it's about 1/3 of that. Find another way to oay it back, like cutting MP's salarys.

As to sabateurs (of the BC liaR variety):

"There are countless reasons signatures were refused, wrong adress, wrong phone number, wrong riding, ineligible, unreadable, liberal sabateurs..."

At least the recall petitioners are suppled with a voter's list.

It would also seem to me that if one misrepresents oneself to ratf**k democracy (knowingly lies about their residence, eligibility to vote, identity) they should be liable to criminal charges, just as if they attempted to vote when ineligible.

It shouldn't be too much to demand the same proof of eligibility to sign a petition that is required to vote and those in favor of the proposition (recall) shouldn't mind as this would tend to ensure the validity of the excercise.

Perhaps in this day of digital cameras it wouldn't be too difficult to save a photographic record of signers AND their purported IDs - or at least suspect participants (like if Donna Barnett signs Gary's petition under a fake name and encourages her riding association members to do the same (or folks from neighboring ridings). Just hypotheticizing here!

Never in my life have I seen a politician so bound and determined to commit political suicide. I like it! It makes the job so much easier.

One point - I believe the Libs have taken 750 million from the Feds. They got 250 million at signing and took another 500 July 1st.

Campbell is refusing a fall session? Of course he isn't. To expect any better of him, would be an exercise in futility. Campbell doesn't work with you, he works against you. Campbell is not about, what is best for the people, nor, the province. He is about, lies, deceit, spite, malice, corruption, DUI, poor of character, Campbell has, not one saving grace. Refusing a fall session, is spite, and nothing other.

Anonymous said...

We are not dealing with a normal person. You can not rationalize a person, who isn't rational. What has Campbell ever done that, has had any logistics applied? How in the hell, can anyone straighten this provinces, absolute, wretched mess out? Campbell, most certainly can't. The HST, has driven prices up so high, people are not going to survive. Real Estate, is totally failing. Small businesses, are having to close. Restaurants are in trouble. Cambell's answer is, to not call a fall session, for Legislature. Campbell and Harper, are peas in a pod. Their close relationship, has not gone unnoticed, by BC citizens.
