How in the hell, can anyone straighten this provinces, absolute, wretched mess out? Campbell, most certainly can't. The HST, has driven prices up so high, people are not going to survive. Real Estate, is totally failing. Small businesses, are having to close. Restaurants are in trouble. Cambell's answer is, to not call a fall session, for Legislature. Campbell and Harper, are peas in a pod. Their close relationship, has not gone unnoticed, by BC citizens.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2435367521078186829.post-84903342036137214282010-08-22T10:43:31.461-07:002010-08-22T10:43:31.461-07:00Campbell is refusing a fall session? The last minute hail Mary thrown by the Howe Street mafia was nothing but a blatant attempt to thwart democracy.

The implementation of the HST by Campbell & Co. has nothing to do with deficits nor financing core government services. It is all about giving big business a gift of taxpayers money.

The ICBC announcement is suspicious to say the least. I think it was made to deflect attention from other issues, but also to shine a light on the profits there are to be made in the insurance game. One thing Campbell has not been able to accomplish is to rid us of ICBC. If he can convince a lot of us that ICBC is overcharging the masses by making excessive profits because of lack of competition, then he can pursue the re-introduction of private insurers. JUst think about it. What better way to turn public sentiment against ICBC but to make it out to be a money gouging entity.

This tactic is not much different as what he did with the liquor stores. Convince the masses that they are being screwed over by government enterprises. Why some of you may ask. It's really quite simple. ICBC and the LDB are staffed by union workers. The BC Liberal Party is opposed to unions.

I am convinced that the agenda of Gordon Campbell from the time he assumed the leadership of the BC Liberal Party was to rid the provincial government of public entities that are largely staffed by union employees. Hence the attack on the HEU, BC Hydro, the LDB, BC Rail, and now ICBC. I suspect this was a mandate he agreed to pursue in order to get financial support from his Howe Street cronies.

As an aside, I was amazed to find that on Global's early news the court decision on the court challenge to the FightHST initiative was nat reported on until halfway through their half-hour broadcast, and then on the late news, they never covered it until the second half of the broadcast. Curious to say the least.

Cam

PS.....Don't forget boycotting the companies that are members of the six associations that brought on the court challenge against the FightHST campaign. Recall is a ways off by legislation, but a boycott has no such constraints.Crankypantsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2435367521078186829.post-32529033439380986542010-08-20T18:23:01.809-07:002010-08-20T18:23:01.809-07:00To the last contributor whose comment I deleted, y...To the last contributor whose comment I deleted, yes there were many invalidated signatures on the petition but...

There are countless reasons signatures were refused, wrong adress, wrong phone number, wrong riding, ineligible, unreadable, liberal sabateurs...

But that has no bearing on the results, the petition passed...

In other news today, inflation is up in Canada and the HST has been shown to be the cause, also stats Canada stated today that in BC hydro rates are up 36% year over year...

That because of rate increases and the nafarious 2 tier power charges, the 2 tier rate can`t be avoided by any home owner....

The HST lies have already been proven, prices rose, economic activity has slowed to a crawl, job losses everywhere...

The Economists were wrong, the HST is a bullshit rip-off scam designed to fatten big business bottom line....

F""$ Gordon Campbell!Grant Ghttp://powellriverpersuader.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2435367521078186829.post-65967119253319886282010-08-20T17:55:53.463-07:002010-08-20T17:55:53.463-07:00The province has thus far only accepted $250 Milli...The province has thus far only accepted $250 Million.
That money was a gift.
