I Can`t Comment, it`s Before the Courts

Great news folks, the "Mock BC Rail Corruption Trial" has ended..........

In a sudden turn of events Basi and Virk have plead guilty to lesser charges, the crown has offered a plea bargain, I haven`t looked at the deal and or punishment involved in this plea deal yet....Now before you regulars jump all over me for this post, think about how glorious an opportunity this brings.....

As a regular watcher of the B.C. Legislature for years, whether it was Wally Oppal, Colin Hansen, Mike De Jong, whether it was a transportation mininster, minister of finance, whether is was Patrick Kinsella......

Whether it was even Gordon Muir Campbell, I can`t tell how many questions from the opposition, from media, from radio callers, from everyone, I can`t tell you how many BC Rail questions were answered with....

"I can`t comment, it`s before the courts" snip

So now my friends, Gordon Campbell (if he doesn`t resign very soon)....When asked about Patrick Kinsella being paid by CN Rail and BC Rail at the same, when Campbell is asked about Martyn Brown, when Gordon Muir Campbell is asked about the massive now over $600 million dollar escalating at 9% interest per year tax indemnity clause that was inked in the election lie BC Rail sale deal.!!!!!

Gordon Campbell can longer hide behind it`s before the courts, and....

And the BC NDP Party can now demand, fan the flames, the NDP can insist for a complete public inquiry over the Campbell election lie and the selling of BC Rail....

Of course the B C Liberals can refuse a public inquiry but they will do so at their own peril.....

I know that many of you will be disappointed with the BC Rail corruption trial ending but....It was a farce, legal watchdogs shut this Mock trial down because it was humiliating to all, the legal purists, to the rule of law, the judge, the prosecution, the rulings, every part of this trial was nothing more than "Court jesters and fools" on display in a shameful squashing of justice.....

So Mr. Gordon Muir Campbell.....My first question to you is.....

1)How much do we owe CN Rail for the tax indemnity and when are we going to pay it, and if we aren`t paying it today, at 9% interest per year, when will we pay it, when it reaches $1 billion dollars!

Could you answer that question please Mr. Campbell!

I`m sure you all have questions, I`m sure the media has questions, let everyone get in line to hear answers to questions that have been refused for years!
A day to celebrate my friends!

Well said although it is still really terrible that our courts are so obviously corrupt.

The trial has showed the world that BC, its government, its judiciary, and it police, are thoroughly and utterly corrupt and IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

PAYS YA DOLLAR TO THE BC LIBERAL PARTY AND GET PIECE OF THE ACTION.

What a crock of shit! Now we get to be amazed at the cost of this farce..IF it is ever disclosed. But, are we really surprised by this outcome? Didn't we see the writing on the wall when Bennett was ousted? It seems she may have had too much integrity to be bent, or broken, by this corrupted court/political party.

In my opinion, we can thank Associate Chief Justice Anne MacKenzie - for nothing. This whole case is a disgrace we can lay directly at the feet of the BC Supreme Court...Justice Dohm's, the Federal government (responsible for making these judicial appointments - hey! wasn't the "timing" something else?!) and the above in particular.

To my way of thinkin' Gordo is likely laughing all the way to the bank today - there's champagne corks flyin' behind closed political doors, you can count on it. Woo Hoo Baby! There's gonna be a wild time tonight!!

I imagine CN shareholders are doing a happy dance too...why not...it's not every day you're gifted with a rail way worth a billion dollars...with the potential for billions more. Only in BC huh? If we weren't the laughing stock of Canada before,we ARE now - if we didn't steal the crown of corruption from Quebec years ago - we OWN it now! Wonder how McLean's magazine is gonna spin this one to make devils look like angels.

Rest easy though...the outright partisanship and ineptitude of the judiciary (but for Bennett) shown in this case won't harm anyone's reputation. In BC these days...those traits are rewarded.

Leonard Krog on the radio news today has already called for a PUBLIC INQUIRY into the election lie and subsequent sale of BC Rail (for zero dollars!)

I know some of you are upset, but believe me, we will get more answers and heads rolling without the trial.

I suspect that BC Mary is right, Gordon Campbell on October 27/2010 in his televised speech will talk up the HST and at the end of his spin will announce his retirement, Campbell will not answer questions on BC Rail!...

But his refusal will break the last 9% of support and the BC Liberals will no longer exist as a party...

Wait for it...There will be BC Liberal defections and or outright quiting very very soon...

A little birdie in the BC Liberal camp has been chirping!

Cheers

Yeah, I can hardly wait for Carole James to do a barn burner and demand a public inquiry!

Never mind.

Grant, you are brilliant. Taking what I thought to be devastating news and turning it into a positive.

Lets just fire all our questions back at the liberal MLA's and press them for a response.

And on another note, in three weeks of organizing recall Cariboo Chilcotin has come from number 12 to number 2. The only thing that will save Donna Barnett is if she crosses the floor And denounces the HST.

Thanks for your enlightening post Grant.

There is no such thing as good honest journalism anymore, it doesn`t matter where you are, stores, doctors offices, everyone hates Campbell. The BC Rail wasn`t for sale either, nor were the rivers. No hospital contracts would be torn up. The HST papers were on Hansen`s deak long before the election.

Even Campbell`s corrupt sale of BC Rail trial is a farce, the corrupt sale is tried in a corrupt court, by a corrupt judge who favours brain dead witnesses, no judge would permit you or I to get away with.
I don`t recall a ghundred times a day.

I agree, let us watch Campbell`s propaganda address and boycott the Global advertisers.

Thanks Gary E...Great work from your team in the Caribou...Fantaastiicc!

As for me being brilliant, thanks but I`m not...

I am but one clear voice among many..

BC Mary..Kootcoot..Ross K....Bill T and many many others..and I like your Straight talk too Gary E...

Remember my motto....

"never say never"

This plea bargain might be seen as an admission that the shenanigans surrounding this seedy business can't bear close impartial scrutiny. Maybe an admission too, that control over the message has been effectively lost. So I think on the whole I tend to agree with Grant - it's a good thing. Maybe now British Columbians will finally wake up and demand to know who farted. About time!

Hey everyone the Vancouver Sun is taking questions on a live chat that starts at three. Go. Ask!

I am of the opinion the consequences for pleading guilty to blowing point zero eight on the breathalyzer can be more punitive than breaching the public trust in B C.

Seeing how plea bargaining in the justice system appears so acceptable, perhaps anyone having 3 Scotch & waters and blows .08 can plead it down to one beer and two colas.

Now is the time for Carol James to not only ask for an inquiry, but spell it out to the people of BC that it will be the NDP's position that an inquiry into BC Rail will be the first order of business if/when the NDP are elected.

Not doing so, in my opinion, will sink the NDP future fortunes down to the level of whale droppings.

Well folks, Mike De Jong just finished his press conference, De Jong has flatly refused a public inquiry...We knew that was coming..

And as for the $5 million dollar legal bill for Basi and Virk`s defence....

Mike De Jong said.....

"The special prosecutor made the decision to forgive the defence`s legal bill, it was not the attorney general`s office"

Well well well.....But that doesn`t mean that Gordon Campbell and everyone else connected to this travesty can refuse to answer questions!

Well Campbell, what about that tax indemnity?

I don't think many people were surprised, the Basi, Birk trial being shut down. It fits with all of the other lies and deceit in this province. Hopefully Campbell and Hansen, will fall off their own radar. 9% is all Campbell, Hansen and the phony BC Liberal Party are worth. They are not that far from 0%. BC people resent the corrupt judicial system as well. What a farce the BCR trail was. It was pathetically easy to see through, what direction the corruption trial was going to follow. Duh, I don't recall, made it abundantly clear, it was going to be lies and denial, all the way.

From Ian Reid...

:

Ian Mulgrew is reporting that Mike DeJong is saying that the Special Prosecutor made the decision to pay the defense’s costs.

But the AG should know that’s not possible. Under BC law only Cabinet and the minister can make that call. Here’s the relevant section of the Financial Administration Act:
Guarantees and indemnities

72 (1) The government may, subject to this section, give an indemnity or guarantee the performance of an obligation.

And there is a regulation that governs how this can be done:
Approval for indemnities on behalf of government

1 An indemnity may only be given by or on behalf of the government if

(a) prior written approval has been given by the Minister of Finance, or

(b) the director of the Risk Management Branch of the Ministry of Finance, or a person specified by the director for the purpose of this section, has given prior written assurance that the proposal for the indemnity has been reviewed and accepted by the Risk Management Branch

Thanks Mr. Reid

It was planned this way since way before 2005. The cover-up saved their asses through two elections and provided the perfect excuse not to talk about the theft of BC Rail. Look at the timing...

why don't we all meet up at the global studio's on October 27th and let el gordo know how we feel about him anyone up for that or are we just going to take this lying down?

I bet he hides until then. Add pitchforks to that rally. I would, if I could afford the ferry!

Hey Shirley Bond do you still stand by your hero and master(campbell)If this doesn't prove that campbell is corrupt i don't know what will ,but knowing how much Bond adores Campbell, the little puppet will still follow the MOST CORRUPT premier, what a idiot she and ALL the liberals are,she is really a hateful person.

It cannot be enough that all Liberals run with their tails between their legs. We want justice!

Jail time for those involved. Stealing our railway and giving it to CN.

Campbell has the personality, much like a fascist dictator. No decent person would ever behave, such as Campbell and Hansen do. They have sunk to 9%, and could be lower by now. BC people do not want any of, Campbell's henchmen leading the province either. The BC Liberal party, should be dissolved. I had 3 brothers, 2 brothers-in-laws, and a sister, who served in WW11. Our young Canadian boys, were blown to hell, so we wouldn't have fascists and dictatorship, in our country. Ask any veteran if we live in a fascist regime. And, don't leave Harper out of it, he and Campbell are best buddies.
