Canada First, Political Party Last

Canada First, Political Party Last

Written by Grant G

Maybe I`m naive, foolish or just a bright eyed optimist, thousands of years of history with examples of depravity, mind-numbing ruthlessness and just plain old insanity, has anything changed, struggles for footholds, for life and freedom, battles of the different, religious conflicts for no other reason than a different god, have we learned nothing through time, the only thing that`s changed are the colours of the  uniforms and the wording of the message.

Vlad the impaler, his victims impaled with tree-sized spears and left on display, dangling in air for all to see, genocides committed by Roman Conquerors, Chinese leaders who slaughtered 10`s of millions of people, dissent will not be tolerated, thousands of examples of unimaginable torture are available for anyone to see, one click on google is all that`s needed..

Terrorism, indeed it outrages civilized man, it also is and was encouraged throughout time as a means to stop the tyrants.

When Adolph Hitler and his deranged ideology and war machine was running rampant through Europe terrorism in the form of civil disobedience and sabotage was encouraged, "The Underground" it was known as, monies were funneled from everywhere to aid those non-uniform wearing activists, blow up bridges, trains, take down communication lines and shoot any German who got in your way...

These underground activists wore no uniforms, they worked in the shadows and in the non-German world`s mind were justified in their tactics, by whatever means stop Hitler...These "spies" wore no uniforms, they couldn`t come out and say who they were, what cause they were fighting their numbers to small, weapons not fierce enough to battle a well-honed military machine..

True believers of Hitler`s end game considered these underground saboteurs "terrorists"...If caught no trial, no hearings or jail just instant death by whatever means available..

The American military industrial complex has meddled in so many country`s affairs, too many incursions to cite here , however, we must remind the public, remind Canadians of some of America`s transgressions..

Osama Bin Laden was armed with machine guns, rocket propelled grenades, ammunition galore, for over a decade the USA helped Bin Laden fight the Russians in Afghanistan...After all, the cold war was still raging and "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"

America spent $billions of dollars arming Saddam Hussein, again, Saddam was fighting America`s other Middle East enemy,  Iran.

In the eyes of Russia, or Iran, would these American activities not be considered Terrorism? United States of America handing over free weapons to those fighting Russia and Iran...The USA promoted Terrorism throughout the Middle East providing the target was Iran, or Libya ...America encouraged Bin Laden`s forces to fight, to terrorize Russia and Russian assets, resulting in countless Russian deaths.

The last American war against Saddam Hussein, the war that never ended, never resolved, victory claimed by no one, the CIA fabricated evidence about centrifuges and yellow-cake, mobile biological labs, the looming nuclear threat poised by a world-beating nation known as Iraq..All lies fabricated as a means of gaining international support for an invasion..

It was all a lie, yes Saddam Hussein was ruthless, a nasty deranged tyrant, he killed countless innocent Iraqis who were not on his religious side but ruthlessness is not isolated in the Middle East, in Mexico scores of innocent people are burned alive, buried alive by drug cartels, police in many Mexican cities either become corrupt and work for the cartels or die, the choice is that simple, a thousand times more innocent people in Mexico are robbed, held hostage for ransom, slaughtered each year than that of Canada..Terrorism in North America that`s been raging for more than a decade, seems no one cares about those innocent victims because they aren`t politicians, or military persons, or a means to win an election..

Two murdered Canadian military members, tragic, unacceptable, not Canadian like, but is that enough call for turning Canada into a paranoid military police state....Thousands of teenage suicides in Canada, should we outlaw medications of cause? thousands of drunk drivers kill innocent civilians in Canada, should we outlaw drinking establishments, ban liquor, or do as the BC Liberal party under Christy Clark has done, bring easy flowing alcohol to golf courses, flea markets, movie theatres, corner grocery stores...Is that in a way not promoting the terrorism of drinking drivers, there are laws on the books against driving under the influence, they are routinely broken, should those prepared to drive while drunk be locked up before hand..

Murdered RCMP, slaughtered police members throughout Canada are on the rise, killed not by Jihadists, not by members of Islam or Muslims but by ordinary red-knecked white guys, reasons for these actions range from mental illness, stress, fear and a thousand other reasons and of course not one reason is justified, should we ban all weapons in Canada, ban rifles, hand guns, knifes, even gasoline..

Two dead Canadian members of our military, not acceptable, nor is the thousands of Canadians killed each year through criminal activities, death by liquor, by suicide, by mental illness, while committing crimes, murders by gang involvement, how many stories in Canada over the last 10 years where someone has been shot, media reports the shooting and declares that according to police it was gang related so no need for the public at large to worry..1000`s of those stories over the last decade..

How simple, gang related murder in Canada so ho hum, drive down to the local watering hole, sit down to a mug of beer and a cigarette on the patio deck, not to worry, those Surrey murders were gang related..

I kinda got lost on this post, Canada first Political Party last...Been quite busy lately traveling from Burnaby to Garden bay, and as such have missed many phone calls to my home in Garden bay, calls are left to the answering machine..

On my last trip up to Garden Bay there was a message from a voice I haven`t heard in a while, the name isn`t important only the story, this elderly person called twice, urging me to return the call...

The voice was from the anti-HST coalition, a woman who along with me was part of gathering up signatures to stop the implementation of the Gordon Campbell and Stephen Harper`s unholy tax known as the HST...

I called this lady and said...Hi, you called, it`s Mr. G from Garden Bay.....

She informed me that my membership to the NDP party had expired, I responded.....Hell ya, indeed it had...

(Firstly, one must remember that the NDP is one of the same from provincial to federal)

I told her that Adrian Dix`s colossal election failure and John Horgan`s ridiculous nuanced positions have made the NDP in BC near irrelevant......She chimed in that she was mainly concerned with the upcoming federal election..

I let her talk for a minute, she stated nothing that was coherent to me....

Told her that in this election year 2015 that the most important thing was to remove Stephen Harper from power by any means possible..Mentioned that Justin Trudeau has been leading in the polls for two years straight, raising tonnes of money and that Thomas Mulcair was/had/is languishing in distant third place in the same polls for the same two years, that the public wants Harper out and I`ll vote for a party of kilt wearing midgets if it looks like they can take power away from Stephen Harper..

I also said to this older lady, I like Tom Mulcair, I think he`s probably the most intelligent of the three leaders but unfortunately he`s made some stupid mistakes and squandered Jack Layton`s orange wave..

NDP MPs ordered to repay $2.75-million over satellite-office controversy

 http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ndp-mps-ordered-to-repay-275-million-over-satellite-office-controversy/article22779460/

______________

I was polite, calm cool and collected, told her one more time that the only thing that matters is the removal of Harper and that maybe the federal NDP can make inroads for the 2019 federal election..

The phone went silent for a brief few seconds...This woman, an elderly woman(70 plus) then let rip on me..(paraphrasing here)...

Do you know Canada was at the top of the world before Pierre Elliot Trudeau got his hands on this country, he brought in price controls, multiculturalism, drove down wages, changed the face of Canada and still it lay ruined today....I remained silent, let her talk...

She went on to say....Pierre Trudeau, the father of Justin destroyed Canada, without the Trudeaus we wouldn`t have the problems we have today, Liberals and Conservatives for too long have wrecked Canada, the NDP is the only progressive party in Canada, Mulcair will bring in affordable daycare, restore wage parity, lift Canada`s middleclass....etc etc etc...

I had enough, hung the phone up, her tone towards me was angry and bitter, the fact that I was supporting Trudeau for the sole reason of removing Harper....If polls were the other way with Mulcair and the NDP polling at 33% and the Liberals polling at 18% I would support Thomas Mulcair...But they aren`t...To expect a complete reversal of the current polling numbers, a two year polling trend that`s seen Justin Trudeau along with his many speaking gaffes leading poll in poll out..

This older 70 year plus woman was going back near 50 years spewing venom and vitriol, going back 50 years in an attempt to raise support for Mulcair, clearly this woman was too party driven, couldn`t see the trees through the forest..

 It`s delusional, Canada before party.

Justin Trudeau, the media and pundit class are expecting Justin Trudeau to act Harper like, not going to happen, the anti-Harper Liberal leader Justin Trudeau has a simplistic charm about him, not a smooth talker, not a partisan attack dog, not a prosecutorial finger pointing I`m better than you attitude..

Just Justin Trudeau, the anti-Harper, that`s what people want, Canada before any party, beholden to our country, the greater good vote, whatever it takes to remove Stephen Harper from power, yes the NDP deserves a shot, will it come in the future, perhaps but not in this election cycle..

That older woman, I was shocked, Pierre Trudeau was in power when I was a mere baby, to state all of Canada`s ills of today are Pierre`s fault, she was bitter, angry, no longer my political friend because I was choosing the only viable option at this stage of election 2015...So wrapped up in party politics she resorted to harkening back 40 plus years to burn Justin Trudeau, demon spawn in her mind Justin was..

Adrian Dix threw the election in 2013...He listened to nobody but party insiders, a blind kilt wearing midget could have beaten Christy Clark...But not Adrian Dix, the party in all its wisdom, through a corrupt signature gathering leadership campaign chose a liar and forger to lead the party in election 2013...And now we all have to suffer, teachers suffer, poor people suffer, our books suffer another 4 years of mismanagement and debt accumulation along with public assets being sold off by a corrupt BC Liberal party, a political party led by a dimwitted IQ deficient Christy Clark....

And just how different from the rest is the NDP today?....John Horgan whipped his orange into an agreeing vote on a failed LNG taxation bill, whipped his members into voting for a flawed hand everything over LNG taxation bill, a bad bill that didn`t need his or party support, John Horgan who did a complete Translink referendum flip-flop...A 180 degree turn from the short time ago election 2013 stance..

Completely silent on Site C dam boondoggle, silent on his adviser Bill Tieleman`s conflict of interest with the Translink referendum...Silent on everything except glaring personal BC Liberal scandals, the big ticket items Horgan has proven to be nothing but a BC Liberal disguised as an NDPer..

How is that LNG thingy going John?

Translink laugherendum and Site C dam....BC NDP has chosen union jobs and big labour over the public good..

Translink taxation, Translink funding is the responsibility of the provincial Government, kill this phony vote...

We can create more power than Site C dam at 1/10 th of the cost and still create SOME jobs building that gas plant..

Where is Dave Barrett when we really need him..

The USA illegally invaded Iraq, used trumped up fake intelligence to justify the assault, killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, upset the balance of power in Iraq...Was caught tortuing innocent people, tore thousands of Iraqi families apart, thousands with dead brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, daughters and sons...America left a open wound in Iraq, vengeance, anger and seething hatred of Westerners scabbed over that open wound..

Terrorism is wrong, false intelligence to invade another country is wrong, 100,000`s of dead Iraqis is wrong, revenge by beheading, by fire, by drowning, by any means is wrong..

David versus Goliath, Middle East versus the west, .....Islam, Muslim, they will never have the military might to assault the west in a traditional war, fear, loathing and video decapitations are their only weapons.

Only time will heal their wounds, only time will bring another enemy so horrendous that we westerners are all but forgotten..

We westerners are very much responsible for the mess in the Middle East, we can`t undo George Bush`s Jihad on Iraq....We can say we`re sorry and wait as time heals all wounds..

Canada First......Party Last.

Justin Trudeau the anti-Harper, for The Greater Good.

If Anyone "Distrusts" The Military It's Harper

From Ipolitics

"We were disturbed and disappointed to read Stephen Harper's recent comments erroneously claiming that Justin Trudeau has a "deep distrust" of the Canadian military. In my experience, actions speak louder than words, and while Mr. Harper has always been quick to stand with our soldiers for photo ops, he has failed to have their backs when it counts.

The fact is that Mr. Harper's government has made significant promises on new equipment for our troops, but has consistently failed to deliver. In addition to axing nearly $5 billion from the Department of National Defence's budget since 2012, they have, since 2006, left nearly $6 billion in DND's capital budget unspent -- money that was allocated for new equipment like search and rescue aircraft, helicopters, trucks, ships, UAVs, the list goes on and on. Documents recently tabled in Parliament have revealed that, save for a few exceptions, this government has achieved almost none of the procurement goals contained in their 2008 Canada First Defence Strategy.

But Mr. Harper's failure to deliver on promised -- and desperately needed -- equipment is just the tip of the iceberg. It is Mr. Harper's treatment of those who wear the uniform that reveals what he really thinks of them.

This is the Prime Minister who praises reservist members of the Forces, but who has decreased the budget dedicated to reservist pay, and reduced their training budget to pay for things like income splitting -- a $2000 tax break for the wealthiest few. Furthermore, our reserve units are now under strength due in part to this government's closure of recruiting centers.
This is the Prime Minister who eliminated danger pay for our soldiers in Afghanistan, depriving military of pay for serving in incredibly dangerous places, risking life and limb in service to their country. It was only when this cut went public that the Prime Minister felt sufficiently embarrassed to reverse his decision........"

What Shipbuilding Jobs, and When? Where have we seen this play before?

The Below has been presented by yours truly, right now we are in the midsts of a propaganda war, even the BC Government California jobs fair is a fraud, to all you mainstream media, ask the BC Government how many people were hired at this jobs fair, or perhaps ask if these jobs are contingent upon a bunch of LNG plants opening, and proposed mines, ask some hard questions, and if you gutless media really had any balls you would ask Stephen Harper about what`s laid out below..

Nevermind cowards..

Irving Shipbuilding presses Ottawa on Arctic ship deal

Michael MacDonald

The Canadian Press

HALIFAX —The president of Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is applying pressure on Ottawa to sign a contract on design work for eight new Arctic patrol ships.

Steve Durrell said Friday unless the contract is signed and engineering work begins by January, the company’s Halifax Shipyard will have a tough time meeting its goal of cutting the first steel for the project in 2015.

“We’ll be looking at this day by day,” he said. “If it gets delayed a month, it will delay the program a month.”

Durrell set the deadline during a briefing that marked one year since the federal government awarded the shipyard a $25-billion contract to build 21 combat vessels over 30 years.

“We are definitely not waiting to get started,” he said. “We are doing everything we can to advance the timetables and begin building vessels for Canada as quickly as possible.”

The company is still negotiating two contracts with Ottawa — one for design work and the other for the actual construction of the patrol ships.

Durrell repeated his company’s promise to have the first patrol vessel built by 2018, which is already three years behind the original schedule.

The ships, first announced in 2007, were projected to cost $3.1 billion to build and $4.3 billion to maintain over their expected 25-year life cycle. Durrell declined to say whether he thinks the costs would rise in the years to come.

The business executive, speaking to reporters at the sprawling shipyard on the Halifax waterfront, also made a pitch to Ottawa concerning the maintenance contract, which has yet to be awarded.
Earlier this week, documents obtained by The Canadian Press revealed the patrol ships will cost more to maintain because National Defence won’t be signing a long-term service contract until the ships are well into construction.

An internal briefing to former associate defence minister Julian Fantino last fall said the project was full of financial questions, starting with the actual cost of building up to eight warships.
Durrell said the final costs have yet to be negotiated. He said the cost of design work will be revealed early next year, but the cost of construction won’t be known until
2015.

____________

And from a story appearing on the front page of the Vancouver Sun, a continuation of pumping up the BC Liberal Government, pumping up jobs that aren`t there, a coordinated effort aligned with the bloated $30 million dollar jobs ad campaign

___________

B.C.'s shipbuilding industry set to grow by 3,000 jobs and billions by 2020

There are currently 4,627 jobs in B.C., representing those directly employed in shipbuilding and repair, plus those working in the metal plate and fabrication industry, largely dependent on shipbuilding work.

Employment is predicted to increase to 6,883, representing direct and indirect workers, by 2016, and move to 7,605 by 2020, the report said.

Seaspan Marine Corp. won the opportunity in 2011 to negotiate construction of $8 billion worth of large non-combat federal ships. This work is part of the $35-billion federal National Shipbuilding and Procurement Strategy. Seaspan owns Victoria  Shipyards, which operates at the Esquimalt Graving Dock, as well as Vancouver Shipyards. Initial work on the federal vessels will be carried out in Vancouver and they will be completed and taken out on trials from Esquimalt.

Construction of the first ships is expected to start late in 2013. Work will carry on for at least a decade.

Shipbuilding and repair is predicted to generate $10 billion in B.C.’s economy by 2010, the report said.
 _______________

Let me be perfectly clear, I`m not against jobs but there is something terribly wrong here, Gordon Campbell and these wretched BC Liberals promised the Evergreen line every year and full-on promotion of the Evergreen line in 2005 election period and again in 2009, in fact Kevin Falcon in 2009 promised construction would start no later than the Fall of 2010, we are almost in 2013 and no shovels in the ground yet..
Surrey memorial hospital, same thing, it was promised during the 2005 election writ period with completion no later that 2009, again construction of the badly needed new Surrey Memorial hospital was hyped in the 2009 election, it still ain`t finished. looks like Gordon Campbell and Stephen treason Harper use the same playbook..
I know many of you have short memories, remember the last Federal election, you know, the one in Spring 2011, remember all the hype about shipbuilding contracts, I do, ..
And who could forget Christy Clark having a Seaspan Orgasim when these shipbuilding contracts were awarded by the Feds, 1 deal for the Irving shipyard and 1 for Seaspan, from coast to coast, Christy was peaking because she was desperate for a good news story, she pretended the BC Liberal Government actually assisted Seaspan in winning the contract, when in fact it was the BC NDP that made the phone calls and assisted Seaspan, Hansard will indeed reveal those facts..
However, do you see the highlighted part from the Vancouver Sun story, here it is again..

"Seaspan Marine Corp. won the opportunity in 2011 to negotiate construction of $8 billion worth of large non-combat federal ships."

What`s up with that, you mean Seaspan only was granted an opportunity to negotiate?
And what about this next part ...

"Construction of the first ships is expected to start late in 2013. Work will carry on for at least a decade."
Here we had Stephen way back when promoting these ships, it was a big vote getter in our Spring 2011 Federal election, and yet the announcement of Seaspan and Irving Shipyards winning "a chance to negotiate contracts" didn`t take place until the Fall of 2011...
As you can see, the Irving Shipyard has been stalled, delayed and it appears that steel isn`t even being cut until 2015...
Oh perhaps you think I`m being picky, well, ....
What would you say if I told you this Federal shipbuilding carrot has been dangled since 2006?...And at the bottom of this post, a link to Harper`s shipbuilding betrayal in the year 2006...These shipbuilding proposals started then, to soothe the savage marine worker beast..

Arctic Patrol Ship Project

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search
The Arctic Offshore Patrol Ship Project is a Government of Canada procurement project for the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) that is part of the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy.
In July 2007 the federal government announced plans for acquiring 6-8 icebreaking vessels for the RCN.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

The vessels are to be based on the Norwegian Svalbard class and as of 2007 are projected to cost $3.1 billion CAD to construct with a total project procurement budgeted to cost $4.3 billion in order to cover maintenance over the 25 year lifespan of the vessels.[8]

Contents

Project History

In 2006 Prime Minister Stephen Harper had spoken about building three to four icebreakers capable of travelling through thick ice in the Arctic Ocean.[9][10][11]

In 2007 it was announced that the Canadian Forces would purchase six to eight patrol ships having a polar class of PC-5, meaning that they were capable of limited ice breaking.[12]

This announcement was met with some controversy, and the proposed ships have been called "slush-breakers", by Dr. Gary Stern, a scientist aboard CCGS Amundsen, and Jack Layton of the NDP.[13][14] However, it is notable that of the nineteen Canadian Coast Guard icebreakers currently in service, only six have a polar class higher than PC 5.[15]

In 2010 the Arctic Patrol Ship Project was grouped with several other federal government ship procurement projects for the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard into the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy. The NSPS announced on October 19, 2011 that Irving Shipbuilding would be awarded the $25 billion contract for building six to eight Arctic patrol ships as well as fifteen other warships for the RCN over the next two decades.[16]

Design

The vessels' design was initially intended to incorporate a conventional icebreaking bow for cruising, and would have proceeded backwards for breaking heavy ice. The vessels' stern would have been designed for ice breaking and they would have employed azimuth thrusters for propulsion and for chewing through resistant ice. However, due to cost constraints, a conventional bow-first design was chosen for both light and heavy icebreaking. The propulsion would be provided by diesel-electric twin shafts with bolt on propellers, similar to existing Canadian Coast Guard icebreakers.
The vessels will have a hangar and flight deck capable of employing and maintaining the same maritime helicopters as the RCN's other vessels; the CH-148 Cyclone when it enters service with the Royal Canadian Air Forces (RCAF), as well as the CH-149 Cormorant.[7]
In 2008, a contract was awarded to BMT Fleet Technology and STX Canada Marine to assist in developing technical specifications and a design for the project. The technical specifications were to be used to draft a Request for Proposals. The government later awarded a design contract to BMT Fleet Technology and STX Canada Marine to develop the design of the vessel for issue to the selected NSPS proponent.

I guarantee you these same shipbuilding contracts, eer, I mean these winning chances to negotiate shipbuilding contracts will still be in play and used as an election issue in 2015..
The Shipbuilding carrots have been dangled since 2006, it`s almost 2013 and no steel has been cut, remember what else happened in 2006/2007, Harper removed the dis-incentive for Canadian companies who want ships from foreign countries, it was then, at that time when Harper brought up and bandied these shipbuilding deals, that to soothe the angry marine workers, ..We here in BC know all too well, can you say German built ferries, ..As our BC facilities were shuttered, and then Harper removed the foreign vessel import duty, that at the request of Gordon Campbell..
When, where, why, how effing long does it take to start building, thank goodness Harper wasn`t in charge in the 1940`s, we`d all be speaking German and goosestepping.

Read the below linked article , it was this Harper betrayal that made him jump, eer, I mean it was that betrayal that forced Harper to start dangling shipbuilding carrots..

Absolutely right on all points.

Most of all--little stevie and the northern neo-cons must be removed from power.

This may be the last chance we ever get. If these guys steal one more election, we are not going to survive as the Canada we used to know.

"On December 4th, 2008; Canada ceased to have a legal, legitimate government. It was on that date that Stephen Harper (and his Conservative regime) demanded that Parliament be illegally suspended, on the (supposed) grounds of a “national emergency”. And on that date; Canada’s Governor General, Michelle Jean, rubber-stamped Harper’s demand.

"What was the basis of the so-called “national emergency” which prompted Harper’s illegal act? Canada’s Opposition parties had publicly stated their intention to hold a Parliamentary vote, for the purpose of voting Harper’s corrupt, minority government out of office. While undoubtedly the prospect of being thrown out on his ass was a personal “emergency” for Stephen Harper; there is no possible way in which any rational human being could consider a Parliamentary vote to be “a national emergency”.

"There can be no equivocation here. Harper’s demand to illegally suspend Parliament (and thus illegally usurp political power) was an act of treason. Michelle Jean’s choice to rubber-stamp that demand was also an act of treason. While the position of Governor General is largely ceremonial; she had one duty/responsibility to uphold: ensuring that any/all procedural acts in which she participated were legal and constitutional.
