Falcon`s budget a Failure

MSP premiums are going up again, promised small business tax cut that was to go in effect April 1st/2012 canceled..

" Tuesday, announcing plans to privatize the liquor distribution branch, increase MSP premiums and some business taxes, and to sell off hundreds of millions of dollars in surplus government properties.

" Falcon said his government will cancel a drop in the small business  income tax rate, keeping it at 2.5 per cent instead of dropping it to zero as had been planned for this coming April.

Kevin Falcon has chosen to tax small business, not corporations, notice the word IF in the below statement

He added that if the fiscal situation worsens, the government will increase the general corporate income tax rate to 11 per cent from 10 per cent on April 1, 2014"

No money for education,  education budget frozen for 4 years, nothing for inflation, education funding will fall again as inflation takes its toll..

Money for healthcare being scaled back,

"Jim Sinclair of the B.C. Federation of Labour called the budget tailor made for the top one per cent of wage earners in B.C.
"If you're an ordinary person, you're going to pay more for everything, including MSP premiums and at the end of the day you're worse off," he said.

" British Columbia Teachers' Federation president gave the budget a failing grade.
"This is a fiscal failure of gargantuan proportions," she said.
"We calculated, looking at the operating budget this year, that it would cost about $137 million just to keep up with inflation alone," she added.
"If you take the $30 million the finance minister has allowed for public education, that means $100 million cut to public education next year," she said, predicting "deep cuts" to class size and the prospect of more school closures"

" Mary Ellen Turpel-Lanfond, B.C.'s Representative for Children and Youth, was also highly critical, calling Tuesday's budget "callous" and a "U-Turn from [Premier Christy Clark's] families first agenda".

"On the sale of government assets, Falcon said government plans to generate $706 million by selling select assets in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 fiscal years.Falcon said one of the key assets it hopes to sell is the liquor distribution branch, a move he said is fashioned to allow government to "get out of a business we don't need to be in."

"Falcon's budget also said the government will proceed with the next increase to the Carbon Tax planned for this July - a lift that will bring that tax to 7.67 cents per litre from 6.39 cents"

Families will pay more for healthcare, more for fuel, small business get their chained yanked while corporations get left alone, Christy Clark and Kevin Falcon with this budget have clearly chosen the rich over the rest, for shame, more to come, I`m still in shock...And everyone who works for a decent buck in the liquor business will now be laid off and replaced with a private sector Mc flip pay job..And The BC Liberals are selling assets that belong to the people to shore up budget numbers, again for shame, the worst budget in BC Liberal history..

Yeah, pretty despicable on how they treat "families, seniors, ordinary working people" in this province. Christy, Kev, and the rest of you, we are the 99%, be prepared.
Disgusted yet again by this corrupt bunch.

And all the land he is selling, our land, going to his developer friends of course to build those 800,00+ homes. Then he'll give the poor young family not really able to afford a "new" home, 10,000 on a 600,000+ home.
I say to those young ones thinking this is a good thing, don't fall for it. You're in over your head. 10,000 is nothing.

I think this budget is just another spiteful, vindictive little boy Campbell stunt. Do as much damage as you can, to this province and the people, before getting booted out.

The Campbell/Clark BC Liberals, are losing their supporters, especially Falcon. They have gone over to the Conservatives.

BC has been pretty much been given to China. Campbell shipped our mills along with our raw logs to China. They have been taking freighter after freighter of logs, and Christy has had no reforestation done. However, China owns our forests. That too is vindictive, to destroy BC. China also owns our mines. They are bringing their own people to work their mines.

Harper is also permitting China, to buy up the tar sands. They are bringing their own people, to work their tar sands projects. China refuses to pay Canadians wages. They don't pay WBC for injured workers. China does not obey, Canadian laws, rules nor work regulations.

China owns many, many company's in Canada. China has over taken Canada. They own our resources, and our jobs.

Party's such as the Campbell/Clark BC Liberals, are not about what's best for the province and the people. They are only about their own greed.

The minute Campbell thieved and sold our BCR, is the day this province started on a fatal, terminal illness. All our assets and resources are gone. There is nothing left to bring BC back again. This entire province, is foreign owned.

Falcon fully intended his budget to be a joke. He is no different than, little rat face Hansen, who lied about the HST radar papers, not being on his desk, before the BC may election.

The BC Liberals are a bunch of mental midgets with a dimwit in charge.Just when you think they couldn't dig BC into a deeper hole they defy all logic and fill in the hole with us in it.And they're in control till 2013? All the present and future citizens of the province are doomed with with this bunch of corrupt liars in charge, there's nothing left.

Rich Coleman is such a pig!
They have been slinging bullshit so long now they can't do anything else. He and his four necks flopping over his shirt give the expression 'pigs at the troff' a whole new meaning. If you photograph him and the pig from green acres naked from behind you wouldn't be able to tell which one was human.
What was that pigs name anyway?

I had to check out Kim's revelations regarding the pending sale of the LDB and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the Kinsella/Exel Logistics information. I won't retype the message there, but Exel was involved with the closure of Safeway's warehouse in Burnaby last year. Those interested can check out her story and my comment.

As far as the budget goes, there are no real surprises. Falcon has continued the Gordon Campbell era of pissing on the general public in order to feather the nests of the Howe Street mafia.

What I find troubling is that we have already been informed how much the government's fire sale of assets will generate dollarwise. Has the government already sold the Liquor Distribution Branch? Have the other properties also found a new owner? If not, then how can they project how much they will get?

And probably the most important thing of all is what happened to the financial boom the Winter Olympics were guaranteed to bring to BC? When a government has to sell assets just to cover current expenses one must conclude that the current administration is anything but fiscally competent when it comes to the financial well being of this province. Their only objective has been, and still is, to pick winners and losers, and the winners get to eat at restaurants with tablecloths while the rest get to dine on an arborite table or order take-out when they can find enough money to splurge.

If Falcon really is truthful about getting out of "businesses" that the BC Liberals shouldn't be in, he should be "prudent", he should be the first to offer his resignation to Christy Clark, not as the Minister of Finance, but as an MLA, whereby she could then start to draft her inabilities known to the higher up, Lt. Governor, who can write the Writ for an immediate election!

If you are looking to see who will have the inside track on purchasing the liquor board distribution check the registered lobbyiests in Victoria. For the past two yrs an American lobby firm has been registered and they are in the warehouse business. Maybe they want the /B.C. liquor business so they can bring in more American brands.

Surprise! Surprise! Well golly! Guess who is lined up waiting in the wings to take over liquor distribution? Our old friend from the shadows, one mr Patrick kinsella. Oh well I guess it's who you know AND who ya blow! Pathetic! And that "jabba the Coleman" promising it will be looked at thru a "fairness lens".....suuurrre it will....
