"CALGARY — A new report says the Northern Gateway pipeline will boost crude oil prices $2 to $3 per barrel annually over the next 30 years, causing significant damage to consumers, businesses and the Canadian economy.
The economic assessment of the $5.5-billion project by former Insurance Corporation of British Columbia CEO Robyn Allan says the price shock will have "a negative and prolonged impact on the Canadian economy by reducing output, employment labour income and government revenues."
Allan, an economist who researched the impact of the pipeline proposal out of curiosity, says it has been touted by proponents as a nation-building enterprise, but it really represents a "serious economic risk" to the Canadian economy.
"The emperor has no clothes," Allan said in an interview. "We're told it is a gross producing economic opportunity, but in fact it's an oil price shock to the economy."
Allan said when the price of oil goes up, that means Canadian consumers and businesses will pay more for anything produced by that oil. That will result in inflation, business being down-sized and employees being laid off,"......

"Allan said Enbridge has exaggerated the benefits of the pipeline and downplayed the economic impact of price shock on Canadian refineries and businesses and consumers.
"They used the wrong model to answer the question of what will happen to the economy when Northern Gateway is successful in raising oil prices," she said.
Allan, named as by the Financial Post as one of Canada's top 200 CEOs, said she wanted to present her information to the hearing panel and question Enbridge on its model, but was denied intervener status.
The 145,000-member Alberta Federation of Labour included her report in its submission to the panel this week.
AFL president Gil McGowan called the report "a game-changer" and a wake-up call to those who have been seduced by the public relations campaigns of the oil companies.
He said Allan's report suggests the promises of economic growth and job creation "are nothing more than a mirage."
"Once Albertans and Canadian read Robyn's report and realize they are being sold a bill of goods by proponents of the pipeline, I think they will first get angry and then second, start asking some serious questions," he said. "What Robyn's report shows is that if this pipeline is built, the public interest will be undermined — not enhanced— in terms of broad economic growth and job creation......"

Hurricane force winds again, every month there are hurricane force winds on our northern coast, with 1 to 2 oil tankers per day, they will pile up, big ships 4 times the length of a football field, these vessels under pressure would indeed travel in this weather, they would also wreck on our coast and destroy it for centuries, not if a spill happens but when, Enbridge can`t guarantee anything, their own records prove out that fact!!!!!!....The fact that Enbridge has had 804 major pipeline spills in the last 10 years, they average nearly 100 major pipeline ruptures per year..FACT, FACT, FACT.....

Spills and violations

Using data from Enbridge's own reports, the Polaris Institute calculated that 804 spills occurred on Enbridge pipelines between 1999 and 2010. These spills released approximately 168,645 barrels (26,812.4 m³) of hydrocarbons into the environment.^[8]
On July 4, 2002 an Enbridge pipeline ruptured in a marsh near the town of Cohasset, Minnesota in Itasca County, spilling 6,000 barrels (950 m³) of crude oil. In an attempt to keep the oil from contaminating the Mississippi River, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources set a controlled burn that lasted for 1 day and created a smoke plume about 1-mile (1.6 km) high and 5 miles (8.0 km) long.^[9]
In 2006, there were 67 reportable spills totaling 5,663 barrels (900.3 m³) on Enbridge's energy and transportation and distribution system; in 2007, there were 65 reportable spills totaling 13,777 barrels (2,190.4 m³) ^[10]
On March 18, 2006, approximately 613 barrels (97.5 m³) of crude oil were released when a pump failed at Enbridge's Willmar terminal in Saskatchewan.^[11] According to Enbridge, roughly half the oil was recovered, the remainder contributing to 'off-site' impacts.
On January 1, 2007 an Enbridge pipeline that runs from Superior, Wisconsin to near Whitewater, Wisconsin cracked open and spilled ~50,000 US gallons (190 m³) of crude oil onto farmland and into a drainage ditch.^[12] The same pipeline was struck by construction crews on February 2, 2007, in Rusk County, Wisconsin, spilling ~126,000 US gallons (480 m³) of crude. Some of the oil filled a hole more than 20 feet (6.1 m) deep and was reported to have contaminated the local water table.^[13]
In April 2007, roughly 6,227 barrels (990.0 m³) of crude oil spilled into a field downstream of an Enbridge pumping station near Glenavon, Saskatchewan. Long-term site remediation is being attempted to bring the site to "as close as possible to its original condition".^[11]
In 2009, Enbridge Energy Partners, a US affiliate of Enbridge Inc., agreed to pay $1.1 million to settle a lawsuit brought against the company by the state of Wisconsin for 545 environmental violations.^[14]^[15] The violations were incurred while building portions of the company's Southern Access pipeline, a ~$2.1 billion project to transport crude from the oil sands region in Alberta to Chicago. In a news release from Wisconsin's Department of Justice, Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said "...the incidents of violation were numerous and widespread, and resulted in impacts to the streams and wetlands throughout the various watersheds."
In January 2009 an Enbridge pipeline leaked about 4,000 barrels (640 m³) of oil southeast of Fort McMurray at the company's Cheecham Terminal tank farm. It was reported in the Edmonton Journal³), sprayed into the air and coated nearby snow and trees.^[16] that most of the spilled oil was contained within berms, but that about 1% of the oil, about 40 barrels (6.4 m
April 2010 an Enbridge pipeline ruptured spilling more than 1500 litres of oil in Virden, Manitoba, which leaked into the Boghill Creek which eventually connects to the Assiniboine River.^[17]
July 2010, a leaking pipeline spilled an estimated 843,444 US gallons (3,192.78 m³) of crude oil into Talmadge Creek leading to the Kalamazoo River in southwest Michigan on Monday, July 26.^[18]^[19]
On September 9, 2010, a rupture on Enbridge's Line 6A pipeline near Romeoville, Illinois released an estimate 6,100 barrels (970 m³) of oil into the surrounding area.^[

EDMONTON — Oil producers could lose $72 billion over a nine-year-period if a pipeline to carry Alberta bitumen to the West Coast isn’t built, a new report for the Alberta government says as community hearings for the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway project are about to begin this month in British Columbia.

In a 44-page report submitted before Christmas to the federal government panel reviewing the pipeline project, consultants for Alberta Energy peg potential losses for oil producers in the project at $8 billion every year between 2017 and 2025.

The forecast, drawn up by Houston-based consultant Harold York for the firm Wood Mackenzie, is largely based on the expectation that Alberta oil sells at a higher price on an international market than it does in North America.

“If we can get it offshore, there are a lot more markets available to us which are willing to pay a higher price,” Alberta Energy spokesman Tim Markle said.

Enbridge`s "Stanway added that the proposal has a strong economic case to make, starting with an estimated $2.4-billion-per-year increase in revenue to Canada's oil industry through higher prices producers would be able to generate from selling into wider markets.

"The real driving force behind Northern Gateway is the strategic argument for Canada having access to world markets for its most valuable export product," Stanway said.

So there you have it, we have an Alberta University submitting a report that shows BC receiving a mere $131 million dollars over the life of the project, couple that with increased prices at the pump, we have seen this picture before, the HST, a yearly $2 billion dollar tax shift from corporations on to consumers back, a huge benefit to big corporations, $2 billion dollars out of BC consumers pockets directly into corporate profits, we were promised lower prices and jobs, but what we got was higher prices and thousands of lost jobs, the exact same scenario will happen with the Enbridge northern pipeline, as soon as they start selling Alberta crude on the international market they will be charging the brent crude price, our fuels prices will rise by 10% to 20% almost immediately.....Remember when oil surged to $150 dollars per barrel in 2009, our pump price was $1.50 plus per litre, no breaks for Canadians, we were subject to full pricing, pricing higher than what the Americans paid...

The Northern Enbridge pipeline will see BC drivers paying an additional $600 million dollars plus per year, Canadians as a whole will pay roughly $7 billion dollars more per year....

Think about it, which route would more and more Tar sand oil travel, south for a $100 dollars a barrel or west for $115 dollars a barrel?...Exactly, which oil company would settle for the lower price? Eventually all the Tar Sand bitumen will rise to the Brent crude price....How does $1.70 to $2.00 a litre sound?

So here`s the deal, the Enbridge Northern pipeline, Enbridge who have had 1000 pipeline spills in the last decade, including a savage spill of 844,000 gallons of crude oil into the Kalamazoo river last year, Enbridge wants their pipeline to cross 1200 rivers and streams in BC on its way to Kitimat where giant Supertankers 4 times longer than a football field will have to travel the roughest, windiest coastline in the world, a coastline where hurricane force winds blow almost weekly!!!...Including this week!....

And for all of this risk, for tempting fate, waiting for the inevitable spill, for a cost of $700 million dollars per year to B.C. drivers, just what is our benefit?

The University of Calgary's School of Public Policy issued an analysis Thursday concluding that with expanded pipeline access to U.S. and Asian markets, Canada's gross domestic product would jump $132 billion in 2010 dollars between 2016 and 2030, generating $27 billion in federal, provincial and municipal taxes and 649,000 person-years of employment.

But the study also shows that the overwhelming economic benefit of pipeline expansion to B.C. goes to Alberta.

The opening of the Asian market would trigger $10.5 billion in gains and 52,000 person-years of employment in Canada, but almost $10 billion of that wealth and 44,000 person-years go to Alberta.

Ontario would get $286 million and 4,000 person-years, while B.C. would enjoy $131 million and 2,000 person-years.

The study also "suggests" that B.C. would gain an additional $85 million in GDP and another 1,000 person-years due to increased exports to California if pipelines are built to the West Coast.

Several members of B.C. municipal governments are also under suspicion, Richard Fadden, the director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, told CBC News in an exclusive interview.
"We're in fact a bit worried in a couple of provinces that we have an indication that there's some political figures who have developed quite an attachment to foreign countries," Fadden said.
"The individual becomes in a position to make decisions that affect the country or the province or a municipality. All of a sudden, decisions aren't taken on the basis of the public good but on the basis of another country's preoccupations."

"On the face of it, it is a neatly packaged controversy.
You could say it's about the government's weirdly over-the-top enthusiasm for the $6-billion Enbridge Inc. proposal to push a pipeline from Alberta's oilsands through northern British Columbia to saltwater at Kitimat. Or you could say it's about an environmentalist plot to keep Alberta's oilsands landlocked, although even the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers is laughing out loud at that one..........

In any case, we all agree that it's about satiating China's growing demand for energy and getting out from under Canada's reliance on the limited American market for Albertan oil. But something else has been going on, and it's not funny anymore......

Nearly half of the $100-million upfront cash for the Enbridge project is coming either directly or indirectly from the seventh largest corporation on Earth, the absurdly corrupt Sinopec, a ravenous behemoth run directly by the regime in Beijing.....

Oilpatch rumours have it that Beijing's own Sinochem and the China National Petroleum Corp. came up with at least some of the other half. In any case, you aren't allowed to know. Prime Minister Stephen Harper isn't saying, and neither is Enbridge.
It was Sinopec that spent $2 billion on an outright purchase of the Alberta oil and gas firm Daylight Energy late last year. A direct Beijing foothold - this was a first for Canada's oilfields.....

But it was an earlier $2-billion Sinopec takeover of Vancouver's Tanganyika Oil that won Beijing its first big piece of Syria's Oudeh oilfields, and that's how Sinopec provides the sanctions-busting revenues that allow the delusional mass murderer Bashar al-Assad to hang on in Damascus..................

It's the same game Sinopec has been playing in Sudan, keeping the genocidaire Omar alBashir in Khartoum instead of in the prisoner's dock at the International Criminal Court in the Hague.....

Here's where it gets really ugly. China is now Iran's No. 1 trading partner. Sinopec is now Iran's main buyer of crude oil. Tehran has managed to avoid the bite of Euro-American sanctions aimed at curbing the ayatollahs' nuclear ambitions. Sinopec is the reason why the sanctions are failing.......

If sanctions fail, it will almost certainly mean war.

Canada is supplying the bullets for China`s environmental destruction gun, this isn`t assisting suicide of suffering Asians, this is complicity in full-scale industrial mass-murder.

China cadmium spill threatens drinking water for millions

"BEIJING -- A cancer-causing cadmium discharge from a mining company has polluted a long stretch of two rivers in southern China, and officials warned some 3.7 million people of Liuzhou in the Guangxi region to avoid drinking water from the river, state media reported on Friday.

Pollution of waterways by toxic run-offs from factories and farms is a pressing issue in China, prompting authorities to call for policy tightening, though the problem shows no sign of going away.

Officials opened sluices at four upstream hydrological stations on the Longjiang River, a tributary to the Liujiang that runs through Liuzhou, hoping to dilute the pollutants after the toxic metal cadmium was first detected nearly two weeks ago in Hechi, Xinhua state news agency said.

Many fish died despite efforts by local fire officials to dissolve the cadmium by pouring hundreds of tonnes of neutralizers into the river, and authorities reported panic buying of bottled water by local residents.

Xinhua said officials blamed the Guangxi Jinhe Mining Co. for the Jan. 15 spill, but it was not clear how long the company had been discharging the chemical into the river or how much had had been released.

As of Friday, elevated levels of cadmium were being detected in Liuzhou, more than 130 km downstream from the plant, according to the report.

Xinhua quoted Gan Jinglin, Liuzhou’s environmental chief, as saying the water in Liuzhou met national standards and was safe for drinking.

But it added that local authorities had warned citizens not to drink water from the polluted sections of the river, and the government began looking for alternative water sources out of concern the pollution might spread further.
As of Friday, hundreds of residents near the source of the spill were still dependent on bottled water because wells there had also become contaminated, Xinhua said.

Despite Beijing’s frequent pledges to reduce pollution, local officials often put economic growth, revenue and job creation ahead of environmental concerns."

Exposure to smog is severe hazard

"In Beijing, the lung cancer rate has increased by 60 percent during the past decade, even though the smoking rate during the period has not seen an apparent increase, said Mao Yu, deputy director of the Beijing Health Bureau.

"Increasing air pollution might be largely blamed for that," said Zhi Xiuyi, director of the Lung Cancer Treatment Center at Capital Medical University.
Lung cancer, the leading killer among cancers, claims more than 600,000 lives on the mainland annually, according to the Ministry of Health.
In the past 30 years, the mortality rate among lung cancer patients increased by 465 percent on the Chinese mainland.

"Long-term exposure to that (particulate matter) also substantially increases the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases," said Ma Changsheng, a cardiologist at Anzhen Hospital in Beijing.
"The smaller the particle, the more hazardous it is for public health," Shi Yuankai said. "Worse, protective measures like wearing face masks barely help because the particles are too small."
The disastrous effects of smog are nothing new.
In the winter of 1952, dense smog in London caused mainly by heavy coal combustion killed about 12,000 people in the city.
That incident prompted the British government to move to clean up the air, and the effort paid off, for today, PM10 concentrations read at the significantly lower level of around 30 micrograms per cubic meter in the city.
According to the World Health Organization, the main components of particulate matter are sulfate, nitrates, ammonia, sodium chloride, carbon, mineral dust and water.
Even in the EU, average life expectancy is 8.6 months shorter due to exposure to PM2.5, though the lung cancer rate has slightly decreased there in recent years, studies found.
"It is possible to derive a quantitative relationship between pollution levels and specific health outcomes," according to a 2005 World Health Organization report. Yet, in China, "we have few such studies", said Shi Yuankai.
The bad air has also disrupted traffic in the country.
Starting at the weekend, heavy fog shrouded northern and eastern parts of China. On Monday, about 219 flights were canceled and 118 delayed as of 3 pm at the Beijing Capital International Airport, according to the airport's website.
Apart from Beijing and Tianjin, nine other provinces, including Hebei, Shandong, Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian and Jiangxi, were shrouded in heavy fog, snarling traffic.
Cars along the highway from Beijing to Harbin were backed up more than 50 kilometers in Liaoning province on Monday morning, China National Radio reported."

China's Pollution Nightmare

"Unregulated industries contaminate local water sources, sickening thousands.
China is facing a "grave" environmental crisis, with more than half its cities affected by acid rain and one-sixth of its major rivers too polluted even to water the crops with, officials said recently.

Three decades of breakneck economic growth have taken their toll on the country's natural resources, sparking a huge increase in public unrest linked to environmental degradation and health problems caused by pollution.

"The overall environmental situation is still very grave and is facing many difficulties and challenges," deputy environment minister Li Ganjie told a news conference in Beijing in June.

Activists say that China has an exemplary set of environmental protection legislation, but that environmental officials lack the power to impose it on powerful vested interests at local levels.

Li said China's only clean coastal waters are to be found off the resort island of Hainan and some of the northern coastline, while the waters around Guangzhou, Tianjin, and Shanghai are rated as "severely polluted."

He said that 16.4 percent of China's major rivers have failed to meet the standard needed for agricultural irrigation, while the air quality is rated as exemplary in only 3.6 percent of Chinese cities.

He said the impact of heavy metal pollution on people's lives has been particularly severe.

"These heavy metal pollution incidents not only seriously threaten people's health, they affect social stability, and it ought to be said this is a rather severe issue," Li said."

Beijing (AsiaNews/Agencies) – The government will spend 6.4 billion Yuan each year to give drinking water to over 32 million rural villagers by 2010. Wang Shucheng, minister for water resources announced the move during a conference at the beginning of January.

But experts maintain that it is necessary to eliminate industrial waste and protect the environment first, even if that means slowing economic development.

According to official data, in 2004 over 320 million rural farmers had no access to clean drinking water -34% of the agricultural population- 125 million of whom live in the western provinces, 138 million in the centre and 69.9 million in the east. Of these, 190 million drink water containing toxic substances above security standards. According to the States Administration for the protection of the environment, out of a total of 234 villages tested in 2006 only 8.81% had sources of clean drinking water. Wang admitted that “hundreds of thousands of Chinese suffer from various illnesses because they consume (unclean) water” and has assured his commitment to seeing that these projects are carried out.

The project is part of a five year plan, begun in 2006, to bring drinking water to over 160 million farmers. Official sources point out that the government spent over 22 billion Yuan between 2001 and 2005 to bring drinking water to 67 million rural villagers, but has only reached a third of its target in tackling polluted rivers

. 90% of rivers and lakes are polluted, above all in the north with over 70% of river water from the Yellow, Huai and Hai rivers “too polluted for human."

Further anti-pollution riots break out in China

"controls have failed to keep pace with economic development, the country's environment minister has admitted as details emerged of another riot sparked by fears of industrial contamination.

In at least the third clash in as many weeks, 2,000 riot police fired tear gas and warning shots during a violent confrontation with anti-pollution protesters near an industrial plant in Quanzhou, Fujian Province.
The demonstrators destroyed cars, threw stones at police and took an official hostage last weekend in an attempt to sabotage a tannery and chemical plant that they blamed for a foul stench and high rates of cancer. Tensions have risen as the smell has worsened, locals said.

According to the local government, the "rioters" badly beat four chemical factory employees, the chief of the nearby Chengping village and at least one policeman during sporadic fighting over the past week.
The authorities said the hostages have been freed and calm has been restored, but locals told the Guardian that at least 100 protestors were still blocking access to the plant.
"Don't believe what the government is saying," a resident named Zhang said by telephone.
Images posted anonymously online showed upturned cars and long ranks of police carrying shields and batons.
On a local government website, the odour problem is blamed on a broken pipe at the Quangang Urban Sewage Plant.

But residents said the facility, built about three years ago, discharged industrial waste that polluted the sea shore and threatened the health and incomes of local people.

"The stench is awful," said a man, who gave only the surname Liu. "Nobody wants to buy our fish. We can't earn money. The fishing boats have been abandoned on the shore."
Calls to government offices in Quanzhou rang unanswered today.
Earlier in the week, the state-run Straits Metropolitan News, blamed "unlawful elements" for the trouble, but it said only 200 protesters were involved.
The clash in Fujian follows recent disturbances in Shaanxi and Hunan provinces, which has led to the arrest of 15 people, say authorities.

That unrest had been sparked by the lead poisoning of more than 2,000 children."

I don`t know whether to be happy sad or terrified, I on one hand am thrilled with the Federal NDP results and on the other saddened and scared of the Stephen Harper majority, the Canadian electorate is more polarized more divisive more confused than at any time in my memory...

The results may appear to some that the Conservatives have galvanized the Canadian public into a unifying force but the exact opposite is true, before we get going we need to examine raw vote percentages, the Conservatives had a minority Government with almost 39% of the total vote numbers and now they have a majority with about 40% of total votes, 40% of 54% of eligible voters, in other words about 20% of all eligible voters gave us a Conservative majority....

I don`t know if Harper`s bombastic assault on the Federal NDP in the last week stopped the momentum of the orange surge or the 2 year ad campaign against Ignatief made the difference....All I know for sure is less people, fewer Canadians are happy with the Conservatives and even more are deeply concerned ...Big media has had its clutches on the older uninformed Canadians (The Boomers+)for some time now.... and as I stated before Stephen Harper provoked this election for one main reason, his base of support is dying off by thousands, every month his core base shrinks while a younger generation leans clean, leans left..er

Having said that we are about to enter the dark world of right wing Republican ideologues, a war wanting deregulating corporate elite mentality, a world where individual people and communal needs are of little concern, a place where a clean environment gets in the way of profits, a world of fighter jets, super max prisons and lower corporate taxes and a continuation of Harper`s Amercanization of Canada, a majority in the hands of a madman, unrestrained in his agenda with no impeding obstacles has me fearful of the future, projects like Fish Lake destruction and Enbridge pipeline through Northern BC, Jason Kenny (Con MP in Alberta) both campaigned and promoted the pipeline during the writ period, despite what BC`ers want the cornerstone of the Alberta`s energy plan is to ship its product west, tankers and risk, oil spills and river destruction will occur but these accidents and tragedies won`t be in Alberta but British Columbia, it`s very easy to gamble with other people`s ecosystems, Alberta can destroy their aquifers and rivers but how can any Province or Federal Government seize another Province`s environment and destroy it against their wishes, this battle will be epic and further polarize the electorate, rich against poor, the naive versus the informed, the militant against the passive, humanity versus madness..

BEIJING — This great city is the epicenter of a geopolitical battle over cyberspace, who controls it, and who defines its rights and freedoms. China’s 485 million web users are the world’s largest online population. And the Chinese government has developed the world’s most advanced Internet censorship and surveillance system to police their activity.
Yet the days of Americans piously condemning China’s “Great Firewall” and hoping for a technological silver bullet that would pierce it are over. China’s system is a potent, vast and sophisticated network of computer, legal and human censorship. The Chinese model is spreading to other authoritarian regimes. And governments worldwide, including the United States, are aggressively trying to legislate the Internet.......

The problem is not software or hardware developed in a secret Chinese government laboratory. Recent news reports have uncovered American and European companies selling surveillance technologies to Libya, Syria, Bahrain, Thailand and other governments that block the web and brutally suppress dissent.
While the Egyptian government’s attempt to shut down the Internet during the Tahrir Square protests drew headlines, western governments are increasingly using the web for law enforcement surveillance. In a biannual transparency report released earlier this month, Google reported a 70 percent increase in requests for content removal or user information from the American government or police in the first half of 2011. Brazil filed the most requests, followed by Germany, the U.S. and South Korea, according to The Guardian.
Western companies are also under fire. Can a Canadian Prime minister be Impeached?

"Yes, in theory the Prime Minister of Canada or anyone for that matter can be impeached by the House of Commons. The House of Commons retains the power of Impeachment, inherited from the British Parliament, because our constitution states that ours is "similar in principle" to the constitution of Britain.

The US system of Impeachment is based on the British example, but the only penalty available is removal from office. This is not true in Britain where sentences can include fine and imprisonment and are not limited to persons holding office.

It should be noted the last person to be impeached in Britain was Henry Dundas in 1806, so the practice has long since come into disuse. It would be very unconventional to say the least for the Canadian Parliament to dig up these old powers and use them, especially against the PM. But in theory it is possible. Though how the procedure would be amended in Canada would need to be negotiated".........

"The role of the Prime Minister is not defined in the constitution, so there is no specific formula for his dishonourable removal from office. However, none is truly necessary, since, as the Prime Minister is appointed by the Governor General, should the need arise, the Governor General can simply replace him. However, there are several ways that a Prime Minister can be removed from office, or reprimanded for his actions.

The House of Commons can force a deadlock with the Government by passing a motion of no confidence. Either house of Parliament can censure any individual. The result of this can range from a verbal rebuke to expulsion from Parliament or imprisonment. A censure does not remove a Prime Minister from office, though depending on the severity and nature of the censure, I think (which means this isn't a fact) it is possible that the Prime Minister could be removed from office as a result of one, if only because of the political damage to him, or by loosing his seat in Parliament.

The Supreme Court of Canada can charge the Government with violating the law or the constitution, and order the Government to cease to act in violation, and/or to make reparations. I cannot find any hint of the circumstances under which the Governor General would dismiss a Prime Minister as a result of such a charge."......

I hear an outfit called Adventure tours advertising on cknw, advertising nature tours to Haida Gwaii and surrounding areas, I hear advertising for Super Natural British Columbia using Orca songs, I see bears feeding in the wild and on the wild, as in wild salmon, fancy commercials showing clean white snow and jumping fish..

Pipeline and super tankers harm British Columbia in the pocketbook, our entire tourism industry is put a risk of collapse even without a leak or spill, our B.C. brand would be forever tainted, again only a prime minister suffering from mental sickness would push this through, that in itself points to mental instability..

Funny stuff this bru-ha-ha over Stephen Smart being found in conflict over his year-end interview with unelected premier Christy Clark, what`s funny you might ask..

It`s funny because no one cares, the moment I saw, or any half paying attention politico saw the interview it was apparent conflict existed, that being said the interview wasn`t that bad and what I mean by that is, when has Stephen Smart ever done a tough interview with a BC Liberal or any elected member of the Government, I haven`t seen it, past, present or I suspect, future..

Celebrating a little moral gotcha moment against Stephen Smart is fleeting at best for members of BC`s fortress of journalistic solitude closed the public gate on truth, integrity, tenacity and basic arithmetic a long time ago, for how hard is it to put 2(?) and two together..

It wasn`t like Keith Baldrey, Vaughn Palmer, Sean Leslie, Bill Good or anyone ever got a scoop, broke a Government ball-buster scandal, it was bloggers who kept BC Rail debate alive, it was progressive online journalists and researchers who warned of BC Hydro`s coming debt crisis, a debt crises created by Gordon Campbell`s IPP wealth transfer scheme, a scheme that`s still growing, John Calvert warned of just this scenario...

Stephen Harper Will Not Be Permitted to Brush us Aside

150 outraged citizens protested outside the Ramada inn in Prince George last night, they were protesting against Enbridge, against Stephen Harper, against the Northern Gateway pipeline, against super tankers loaded with Alberta crud oil on our coast, the weather was freezing, minus 30 degrees, I remind Mr. Harper that this protest took place in right-wing Prince George..

The joint review panel, let`s be clear, this panel will have no choice but to reject the project, Enbridge has lied over and over again, their record on pipeline safety is brutal, 805 major spills in the last few years alone, including last year when Enbridge`s pipeline rupture in Michigan poured 844,000 gallons into the Kalamazoo, decimated the water in the Kalamazoo river, human activities like swimming, fishing and even drinking water are still restricted there, limited remediation will top a $billion dollars and still the water will be poisoned..

Super tankers sink, oil rigs, cruise ships and submarines, they all sink, there is human error, terrorism, mechanical problems and weather related accidents and let`s don`t forget bad luck, Enbridge`s BC pipeline proposal would have to traverse over 1000 fish bearing rivers, including major river systems like the Fraser river, the Skeena, we are talking about water supply, animal safety, human safety, Enbridge have offered no guarantees, they can`t, in fact Enbridge has self-admitted there will be inland pipeline leaks to the tune of 1000`s of barrels of oil per year..

One big tanker spill on our inside waters will decimate our commercial fishing industry, our eco-tourism industry, we would lose our precious orca whales, tens of thousands of First Nations would lose their food source..

The National Energy Board(NEB) has only one choice, they must and will reject the project, it`s their only choice, unless the decision has already be made, the NEB board in my opinion will reject the project or be labeled the most incompetent panel group in history or the most corrupt, if the panel approves this project I suspect they would be forced to leave Canada, or live the rest of their lives looking over their shoulders...

That leaves Stephen Harper one choice, a Cabinet over-rule of the NEB decision, but legally he can`t do that, Stephen Harper would be forced to write legislation giving him and him only sole power, the power of a king, a dictator, all encompassing power, a one-man band with Stephen Harper running everything, Canadians and even many of his own party wouldn`t let that pass, we as Canadians would have no choice but to forcefully remove Stephen Harper from office, it can be done, it would be done..

The XL-Keystone pipeline ran into strong opposition, that pipeline would have ran through some sensitive areas in Nebraska, the Northern Enbridge pipeline would run through and traverse over 1000 streams and rivers, it`s at least a 1000 times more sensitive than Keystone, and once there through dangerous channels where screeching winds and waves as high as seven story buildings occur almost weekly.

Let`s go back to the HST debate, Christy Clark and all BC Liberals fought the vast majority of British Columbians to the bitter end, CKNW had the BC Liberal front group {The smart tax alliance} on air almost everyday, they had media spinners, Phil Hocstein, day after day CKNW promoted the HST, they ran misleading stickmen ads, they allowed Michael Campbell to lie about the HST every week....

Every radio voice on CKNW endorsed the HST, Sean Leslie endorsed the HST, Bill Good endorsed the HST, Christy Clark promoted the HST on NW`s air...Gord MacDonald, John Macolm promoted the HST, morning radio voice Philip Til endorsed the HST, in fact Philip Til proclaimed on air..And I quote..."I like the HST because at a 10% tax-rate even an old guy like me can do the math" snip..Yet the HST was 12%, not 10%

Michael Campbell routinely lied about the HST on CKNW, and get this, Bill Teileman was removed from the Monday morning quarterback show because he was leading the fight HST group, Michael Smyth who replaced Christy Clark`s time slot was removed from the station because he too was against the HST, think about it, only those opposed to the HST were removed from CKNW....

Michael Campbell, after the HST was defeated on one of his Saturday shows made this demand....And I quote.."Everyone who voted against the HST should send Ottawa a cheque for $2600.00 dollars"..Snip....Stickmen ads, Smart tax alliance ads, and there was more, Michael Levy promoted the HST on CKNW, Sam, Bill Good`s regular stooge caller was given a soap box twice a week to promote the HST, every corporate shill was given tons of airtime on NW to promote the HST...

The board of trade, port of Vancouver, CEO`s from forestry, mining, the movie industry, it was propaganda overload thumping the hst drums day after day, business leaders decried poverty, doom and gloom, these corporate hogs claimed the world would end if the HST was defeated, Kevin Falcon, Colin Hansen, Pat Bell, every BC Liberal stooge was given a free microphone and leading softball questions......CKNW conspired with the BC Liberals to run the most dishonest lying false-factless propaganda campaign against their own listeners, against British Columbia.

The HST which is still in play, still being paid, it created no jobs, we lost jobs, prices went up on everything, the HST wasn`t revenue neutral to Government, it was a $800 million dollar per year Government cash grab and a yearly $2billion dollar consumer tax hit, everything we were told by the BC Liberals and CKNW about the HST was a lie, Alise Mills promoted the HST on NW, Keith Baldrey promoted the tax, so did Vaughn Palmer, no one got air-time on CKNW unless they promoted the HST....And guess what happened?

Despite a $75 million dollar BC Liberal/ big business ad campaign, a misleading if not lying ad campaign against a $500K anti-HST ad campaign we crushed them, 60% against to 40%...The anti-HST forces were outspent by a ratio of 150 to 1.....And still we won big, so you think maybe CKNW learned their lesson....

Well they didn`t, Bill Good, Sean Leslie, Gord Macdonald, John Macolm, Philip Til, Michael Campbell, Michael Levy, everyone of these radio voices are already pimping the Enbridge pipeline.

Today, Friday January 13th/2012...bill Good advertised his 9:00 am to 10:00 am show as a debate on Enbridge....His guests were and Vivian Kraus and Eco Justice`s Jessica Clog...There was no debate, the whole show Bill Good and Vivian Kraus blathered about one thing and one thing only, it wasn`t a spill, it wasn`t a tanker disaster, there was no talk about Enbridge admitting that 1000`s of barrels will be spilled in BC every year, Bill Good was like a dog with a bone, he echoed Vivian Kraus, Joe Oliver and Harper`s assertion that environmentalists were hijacking the debate, Bill Good was not concerned in the least that China, a ruthless dictatorship with no human rights, no working rights, no safety net, no environmental regulations, a tyrannical dictatorship that is literally killing millions per year with pollution has contributed $100 million dollars to Enbridge to advance this project, Bill Good ignored the fact that China has poured $billions in the Tar sands and have even bought their 100% foreign owned chunks of the tar sands, Bill Good just kept blathering away about Tides Canada and the Rockerfeller foundation contributing a few million dollars to aid in the fight against Enbridge,....

Bill Good didn`t mention the fact that Ezra Levant`s group ethical oil is being funded by, and is nothing but a front group for big oil, that did not concern BC Liberal promoter and liar Bill Good, there was no mention of Enbridge`s 805 pipeline spills in the last few years, no mention of the Exxon Valdez oil spill still poisoning the west coast, no mention of the Enbridge leak happening right now in the Gulf of Mexico, there was no mention of the 2800 sea otters that died from the tiny Exxon Valdez spill, no mention of losing half of our BC Orca in that spill, the 250,000 dead birds, billions of dead salmon eggs, herring eggs, the loss of kelp forests, no mention of the Queen of the north that sank there a few years ago, no mention of the almost weekly hurricane force winds that blow on our north coast, no mention of the 40 foot waves, there was no debate, Bill Good received his marching orders in between all the BC Liberal/BC Government ads currently running on CKNW, ads all day long promoting the $1billion dollar smart meter boondoggle, ads all day long promoting Christy Clark`s pathetic offshore and Premier`s office jobs agenda, ads for BCLC, ads calling Adrian Dix risky, without all these BC Government/BC liberal ads CKNW radio would go silent...

More breaking news, a First Nation in Fort St James British Columbia have erected a blockade, the First Nation`s group is upset about all the resource extraction on their traditional land without receiving any benefit...

"The band office says the protestors are upset by the continued extraction of natural resources from Nak’azdli traditional territory while members of the First Nation receive little to no benefits.

The Nak’azdli say they do not have any agreements related to forestry, fishing, mining, or mineral exploration.

The protestors are allowing public vehicles and emergency traffic through the blockade site, but industrial traffic is being asked to turn around."

The Alberta pipeline pushers, and China...The Federal Conservatives are making it clear that the Enbridge pipeline will be pushed through...That world news has led directly to the crash in natural gas prices....

Enbridge-CKNW-Harper Spin Machine Unraveled!

Well here we go again, Enbridge has a pipe leaking natural gas into the Gulf of Mexico, thank goodness it isn`t heavy crude oil....

And get this, the sea conditions are too rough to even get divers down to check out and repair, let me remind you the BC Northern coast is the roughest most treacherous coast in the world, there have been hurricane force winds there over a dozen days in the last 6 months alone...

Here are some quotes from Enbridge on their 805 pipeline spill in the last few years..

"U.S. pipeline regulators told Enbridge about the possible leak. A subsequent helicopter over-flight discovered a metre-wide patch of bubbles over the company’s Stingray pipeline, which can carry 560-million cubic feet a day of natural gas from offshore wells in the Gulf of Mexico. The bubbles were found about 100 kilometres from the Louisiana coast."

Enbridge plans to keep the pipeline running until it can get a dive boat in to inspect the pipe – that should happen by week’s end, although it is weather dependent

Enbridge also had oil spill from a pipe in Illinois, which appeared to be related to shoddy construction work by another company, as well as from a different pipe in the Northwest Territories.

At the same time, Enbridge’s competitor TransCanada Corp. has had leaks and spills from pumping stations along its newly installed Keystone pipeline.

Mike Klink, a civil engineer who worked as a contract inspector for the company, has pointed to potentially much more serious problems. In the Journal Star newspaper in Lincoln, Nebraska, he alleged use of “cheap foreign steel that cracked when workers tried to weld it, foundations for pump stations that you would never consider using in your own home, [and] fudged safety tests.”

Adler was wondering why foundations and environmental groups weren`t protesting against China but were protesting and fighting the Northern Gateway pipeline....Cue the music, Then Charles Adler brings Ezra Levant to the microphone...

Ezra Levant then started his spin, his ethical oil spin, Ezra(being quite bright) talked about the need to open Asian markets, he mentioned that this oil was going to Korea and Singapore, Ezra Levant mentioned several countries....But was funny, Ezra knew what Adler said, so Ezra Levant said at the end that Possibly even sending oil to China!!!!

The truth is, Ezra Levant knows that all the oil from Gateway is going to China, .....A ruthless dictatorship that poisons its people, destroys environments and treats human rights like feces....

At 7:45 AM/January 11/2012 this morning on CKNW`s Philip Til show...Guess who his guest was...Patrick Mooore, a one time member of early Greenpeace, and guess what, he`s defending the tar sands, oil pipelines and oil tankers, Patrick Moore sold out years ago, anything for pockets of money is the new Patrick Moore, he actually made the pathetic claim that the Tar Sands operation was actually "Cleaning the ground"...Making things better, ....Patrick Moore was a sad tired old man who sold out for one reason...

Patrick Moore failed to mention 100`s of square miles of toxic tailing ponds, he failed to mention the spike in cancer rates in that area, or the poisons building up in the Athabasca river, toxins in groundwater, he failed to mention that the tar sands burn enough natural gas everyday to heat 10 million Canadian homes...He failed to mention the thousands of ducks and geese that die every year from just landing on these poisonous tar sand lakes....

The Federal Conservatives are making a big mistake, this propaganda campaign won`t work in British Columbia...We were told spending $billions on a 2 week Olympic spectacle would make us rich, it was a lie, the Olympics lost money and we are still paying for them, we were told the HST would lower prices and create jobs, the BC Liberals lied, the corporate pigs lied, no jobs, higher prices while corporations filled their boots with record profits, our BC Liberal Government lied about Translink...All they need is a little more property tax, a little more gas tax, a little more parking fee money, now Translink needs to raise transit fares to pay the P3 money losing Golden Ears bridge...

The Enbridge pipeline from Edmonton to Kitimat has to cross a 1000 rivers and streams, all of them fish bearing, the inevitable offshore oil tanker spill will make extinct our Orca whales, we lost half of them with the Exxon Valdez tanker spill, and the Exxon Valdez was a tiny spill, the tankers proposed going into Kitimat are 4 times the size of the Valdez....

So there you have it, we have an Alberta University submitting a report that shows BC receiving a mere $131 million dollars over the life of the project, couple that with increased prices at the pump, we have seen this picture before, the HST, a yearly $2 billion dollar tax shift from corporations on to consumers back, a huge benefit to big corporations, $2 billion dollars out of BC consumers pockets directly into corporate profits, we were promised lower prices and jobs, but what we got was higher prices and thousands of lost jobs, the exact same scenario will happen with the Enbridge northern pipeline, as soon as they start selling Alberta crude on the international market they will be charging the brent crude price, our fuels prices will rise by 10% to 20% almost immediately.....Remember when oil surged to $150 dollars per barrel in 2009, our pump price was $1.50 plus per litre, no breaks for Canadians, we were subject to full pricing, pricing higher than what the Americans paid...

The Northern Enbridge pipeline will see BC drivers paying an additional $600 million dollars plus per year, Canadians as a whole will pay roughly $7 billion dollars more per year....

Think about it, which route would more and more Tar sand oil travel, south for a $100 dollars a barrel or west for $115 dollars a barrel?...Exactly, which oil company would settle for the lower price? Eventually all the Tar Sand bitumen will rise to the Brent crude price....How does $1.70 to $2.00 a litre sound?

Here, let me describe the sound...Kaching, Kaching!

So here`s the deal, the Enbridge Northern pipeline, Enbridge who have had 1000 pipeline spills in the last decade, including a savage spill of 844,000 gallons of crude oil into the Kalamazoo river last year, Enbridge wants their pipeline to cross 1200 rivers and streams in BC on its way to Kitimat where giant Supertankers 4 times longer than a football field will have to travel the roughest, windiest coastline in the world, a coastline where hurricane force winds blow almost weekly!!!...Including this week!....

And for all of this risk, for tempting fate, waiting for the inevitable spill, for a cost of $700 million dollars per year to B.C. drivers, just what is our benefit?

The University of Calgary's School of Public Policy issued an analysis Thursday concluding that with expanded pipeline access to U.S. and Asian markets, Canada's gross domestic product would jump $132 billion in 2010 dollars between 2016 and 2030, generating $27 billion in federal, provincial and municipal taxes and 649,000 person-years of employment.

But the study also shows that the overwhelming economic benefit of pipeline expansion to B.C. goes to Alberta.

The opening of the Asian market would trigger $10.5 billion in gains and 52,000 person-years of employment in Canada, but almost $10 billion of that wealth and 44,000 person-years go to Alberta.

Ontario would get $286 million and 4,000 person-years, while B.C. would enjoy $131 million and 2,000 person-years.

The study also "suggests" that B.C. would gain an additional $85 million in GDP and another 1,000 person-years due to increased exports to California if pipelines are built to the West Coast.

If you could read my mind, what a story my thoughts could tell.......

Christmas with Mom,, just the two of us, it couldn`t have been better, a turkey big enough for family, big enough for a large family, great pleasure and peace combined with tears of memory, tears of days gone by, several siblings have suggested Mom needs grief counseling and it`s caused a rather unsettling separation of what I once thought was a tightly bundled groups of branches....

As individual sticks we are easily broken, daggers, barbs and collusion shrouded in opaque light, grief counseling logic meant to soothe one`s own shortcomings, for why, for who, for what purpose, for how long should one grieve, a day, a week, a lifetime, for what timeframe is acceptable....

Cancer, hideous cancer, time, my mortal enemy time, fire, revenge, justice, memories, sadness and finally peace, I attempted to explain grief to my now stoic siblings, mom will never stop grieving, nor will I, and why should we, the day one stops shedding tears is the day life itself stops.

We had a good cry on Christmas day, Mom and I visited 96 year old Grandma Ann, she was recently placed in a care home, she broke her hip 6 months ago and is fighting to get out, fighting to get back to her apartment and cat, she`s walking again, not like before but she`s trying, she is well aware that her current abode is nothing but temporary wharehousing, nothing but waiting to die, nothing but walls with ticking clocks and I`m helpless to stop it, all she needs is a little homecare or permanent company and no one will step up to the plate, my offer of caretaker and clock destroyer has been rebuffed, words of qualification and suitability are bandied around, thinly veiled smirks and poo-fooedness is directed towards my wide eyed senses, my offer of bucking the easy way out was dismissed as not normal....

Not normal, I pondered this moral platitude, not normal, the status quo resists change, the powers that be don`t want home care, a system of wharehousing living memories while wall-mounted clocks suck the very last breath out of each and everyone of them, tears, sadness, memories and smiles will always be part of Mom and no amount of grief counseling will change her, nor should it,.....

I was telling mother about this moral dilemma, to grieve or not to grieve, the greatest gift one has is internal. I explained to mom that anytime she wants she can think of dad, her mind, she can travel back decades in time and place her husband in her arms, or in bed next to her, Dad holding little babies or teaching his Son how to fish, think and most importantly how to dream.......

With that mom started shedding tears, so did I, how far her mind traveled back I don`t know, but wherever she went the tears were happy, my mind was thinking about Dad fighting a big wild Chinook Salmon, a long thin rod with a screaming reel, it was as though we both traveled back to serenity.

All of you, your children, ancestors, each and everyone of you have a theatre of mind....

Anytime we can remember the past, play a movie in our minds, sisters, brother, trials and tribulations, to grieve is to be human, to care, for without tears we wilt and die.....

And now I believe it`s movie time.....

Well well well, Gordon Campbell not only lied to every British Columbian when HE sold BC Rail but, Gordon Campbell put money, lucrative real-estate, contracts and jobs in his friend`s hands, 6 years later and everyone is still getting paid, any money BC received for BC Rail is long gone, yet BC Rail insiders are still receiving BC taxpayer money by the truckload!

I don`t know where to start, well, how about Gordon Campbell is a corrupt bastard, have you ever heard of David Mclean? This name should be familiar with everyone, why, because that is where the whole thing started, David Mclean played the lead role in privatizing CN Rail in 1994....And, the following IPO was the largest in Canadian history at that time.....
Shortly after David Mclean pulled strings and privatized CN Rail he was appointed to CN Rail`s board of directors, and, from what I understand David Mclean wheeled and dealed, yes indeed, David Mclean a short time later was appointed to Chairman of the board of directors of CN Rail...Hmmm, how did he move up so quickly? Well the answer is simple,CN Rail wanted BC Rail, the only way CN Rail could obtain BC Rail was if the province of BC privatized BC Rail and sold it to CN Rail, but, the government of the day (The NDP) were not interested in selling BC Rail, it was far too important an asset to sell, or, Give Away.......
So what was David Mclean to do, the man was smart, he knew what to do, David Mclean went out and bought himself a politician, and what politician might that have been, well, no other than Gordon Campbell,but, in 1994 Gordon Campbell wasn`t premier of the province,he was mayor of Vancouver, well no point in getting caught up with niggling details, David Mclean`s first order of business was to donate large sums of money to the BC Liberals and Gordon Campbell, that`s right folks, David Mclean pushed and financed Gordon Campbell`s 1996 provincial election campaign, and for that all David Mclean wanted was.....BC Rail, that`s right folks, David Mclean funded Gordon Campbell`s 1996 campaign and in return he wanted BC Rail.....
And as you know in 1996 Gordon Campbell ran on that platform, Campbell spun and twisted and campaigned on selling BC Rail,well, it didn`t go over too well, the people in the interior and in rail towns said "No bloody way, leave our BC railway alone"......So Gordon Campbell lost the 1996 election and BC Rail was still ours, the trains,the massive tracts of property, the thousands of kilometers of track,all of it was still in the hands of BCers, the only north /south railway in the province of BC, this crucial transportation line was still in BC`s family....
Well, this didn`t sit well with David M, he paid the BC Liberal party, he was the largest financier of Gordon Campbell and he had nothing! Well, patience the premier said...There is another election in 2001, meanwhile David Mclean is still donating and financing Gordon Campbell, so along comes the run-up to the 2001 BC provincial election, Campbell and Mclean had to play it smarter, Gordon Campbell couldn`t tell the public what his true intentions were, David Mclean had to get his hands on BC Rail, so Gordon Campbell told the voting public " I won`t sell BC Rail" but he was lying, Gordon Campbell belongs in the liars hall of fame, no politician has ever lied more than Gordon Campbell, and, Gordon Campbell had to make good on giving BC Rail away, after all, David Mclean paid literally $millions to elect Gordon Campbell .
So Gordon Campbell wins the 2001 BC provincial election and proceeds in breaking almost every promise he made, Campbell did keep his personal promise to David Mclean and gave our railway away, Gordon Campbell ripped up contracts and raised the PST, doubled MSP payments and laid the boots to the poor and middle class all the while he gave away billions in tax cuts to his rich friends.

Yes indeed, Gordon Campbell and his cabinet went wild, Gordon Campbell`s friend Peter Armstrong got gifts, his cabinet ministers got in on the action, political appointees held cover, Judith Reid, Gary Collins, Martyn Brown, Bruce Clark, Christy Clark, everyone in government was aware that CN Rail was getting BC Rail and they all knew the bidding process was rigged, of course word flew around the province and omni-trax, CP and everyone else knew the game was rigged, BC Rail going to CN, it was a done deal, after all, David Mclean had made sure of that years earlier, meanwhile, stories emerged of organized crime, drug dealers infiltrating the BC Government, a government gone wild and rumours and stories got back to the police, particularly the Victoria police, Paul Battershill arranged to raid the legislature, wow, what a site to see, police hauling out computers and boxes of documents,nwhat an embarrassment to all BCers, Gordon Campbell getting drunk in Hawaii, getting charged and convicted of drunk driving was bad enough, his adulterous affair with Lara Daphinee and their (Possible love child) was another embarrassment.....
Well surely heads would roll, and they did, it appears David Mclean has lots of clout from coast to coast, the heads that have rolled are the ex-police chief from Victoria and a couple of low-end ministerial aides, that`s it, almost everyone in Government knew what the hell was going on, but Gordon Campbell with his 77 to 2 majority in the legislature didn`t give a rats ass about us, about the law and certainly Democracy, his high powered friends will cover his ass!

Meanwhile one voice of reason and sanity came forth, Paul Nettleton was outraged and complained, a week later Gordon Campbell expelled Paul Nettleton caucus, that`s right,.

Paul Battershill and Paul Nettleton got hammered by the corrupt Gordon Campbell and his high powered friends and both were sent to the woodshed......

Meanwhile, this so-called billion dollars we got for BC Rail is all gone plus more, you see folks everyone had to get paid off, Patrick Kinsella got paid off, (Campbell`s campaign manager) he was getting paid from BC Rail and CN Rail, for years getting paid, the BC rail executives knew what was going on,they knew Kinsella was a backroom Liberal with clout, so the BC Rail executives had the dirt, that`s why 6 years later and BC Rail has no trains these executives have been paid millions of dollars to play golf, that`s right play golf, the province bought them golf memberships and to this day they are still on the pay role....

And where did the rest of money go, well where do we start, CN Rail, part of the deal for being GIVEN BC Rail was that they would get tax breaks worth roughly 500 $million dollars(tax write offs).....And those weren`t federal tax write-offs but provincial tax write offs.

So CN Rail gives the province money for BC Rail and Gordon Campbell gives most of it back in tax write offs...And it gets better, lawyer fees, I estimate the trial, or should I say the endless hearings has cost more than 40 $million dollars....

$500 million in tax breaks, 120 $million in lawyer fees, Patrick Kinsella fees, BC Rail executives being paid for years, paid to play tiddly-winks....Cost to government for searching for documents, tech searches, transcription fees, Public affairs for years, years of spinning, twisting and corruption.

Meanwhile, 1 billion dollars,the money is gone, gobbled up in tax write offs, wages, pay offs, executive salaries, golf memberships, lawyer fees, government fees, our railway is gone, the guilty are everywhere, including the guilty BC Liberals, the connections, the tentacles are everywhere, this whole BC Rail trial/investigation/ show Trial was nothing nothing but a cruel joke played on all, Gordon Campbell, and of course Leonard Asper and the Defunct Canwest Global promoted this theft, the big media looked the other way, failed to report, it wasn`t Vaughn Palmer or Michael Smyth or that useless Keith Baldrey , Bill Good, Les Leyne, Tom Fletcher or Sean Leslie or any of them that even tried to uncover facts, they uncovered nothing, in fact everyone mentioned did more, they deflected and spun, they provided cover for corruption....... and they know deep in their hearts and souls what they did, they`ll have to live with that.

Stephen Harper gifted Gordon Campbell a $200, 000.00 per year cushy gig that includes a residence, a chef, a driver, an expense account plus Gordon Campbell will be collecting his Gold-plated BC Government pension, the same Golden pension Campbell campaigned on removing, just another rung in Gordon Campbell`s ladder of lies....

Over $300,000.00 dollars per year for Campbell, a chef, someone to drive him around, a residence for entertaining his many suitors...

Mr. Harper rewarded Gordon Campbell for ramming the HST down our throats and....And for this largesse all Gordo has to do is promote tar sands pollution, lobby for dirty fuels in transportation and fight any and all legislation that might cut into big oil`s profits.

577,The Unluckiest Number,Ten years out./ The Enbridge pipeline disaster

The 10 year anniversary next month of the Bengal Lion Star tragedy and I had to come to ground zero to see for myself, perhaps it was a mistake to come here, from what I have seen i`m way too angry to cry and too sad for fury, in fact I almost have that peaceful easy feeling.

How I miss my dad`s analytical explanation and mom`s hope springs eternal talks, yet I fear that neither parent could explain away this tragedy, 10 years later, 10 years of black death extending it`s reach.

Looking around by boat off Banks island, one mile from ground zero the feeling is of the surreal, trees are still green but any ocean life or bird activity is eerily quiet, no salmon fry swimming , no squawking gulls just silence, for tens of miles in every direction the great kelp forests are gone, who gave us permission to gamble and lose what we didn`t own and what we could never replace, Fish lake was a horrid environmental mistake, imagine deliberately destroying a huge natural watershed for trinkets of gold, thousands of dead migrating birds, a poisonous lake devoid of life, how many species of frogs, insects still get near or in the lake only to perish or leave half dead, but as horrible as the deliberate execution of Fish lake was the scale of the Bengal Lion Star oil spill off Banks island in Hecate Strait is beyond compare, how is it that my only terms of reference in attempting to describe this site is that of dead zones, in a way its very peaceful, no eternal battle for life here, those days are long gone.

Only if I could turn back the clock, why did it happen, the Bengal Lion Star should not have went out, a deep pacific low moving in, was the Captain pressured to leave, why why why, even with two large commercial tug boats assisting wasn`t going to stop the wreck, maybe if there were extra support tugs who knows but when lead tug boat Kitimat queen capsized in heavy seas nothing was going to stop the massive oil carrier from grounding on White jagged rocks that stormy (March 14, 2016) night, 30 - 40 ft high waves capped with fury pounded the Bengal Lion Star on unforgiving rocks, section after section burst like watermelons, spewing millions of gallons of tar sand oil, the 3rd largest oil spill in the world, maybe if the oil containment teams had gotten out here sooner but with storm force winds blowing for 2 days along with extreme high - low tides, my god, oil sprayed the shore line high on exposed rocks and layered thick into the lowest tidal zones, mountains of Alberta crude flowing in deep water, who could imagine the oil would have spread 50 miles in different directions over 2 days, coves, bays, narrow channels coated in black death, as far as I can look in any direction this paradise is dead, who knows what the bird count will ultimately be, millions of direct bird deaths with millions more that died in subsequent migrations, birds all along the coast found dead, birds with clear signs of contact with heavy oil, the engine in this migration route blasted with syncrude, indeed, the scale of the Bengal Lion Star oil spill can`t be measured in millions of oiled birds or the 40 distinct salmon runs that were decimated and or all of BC`a wild salmon teetering on extinction, the sea lions, otters, coastal bears, eagles, ferrets, no salmon spawns led one extinction into another, we broke nature`s bond, too many dead for one`s heart to count, oil stained carcasses feed other animals that ultimately die and black oil`s death grip reaches on and on, only with time, generational time, perhaps millenia before this area recovers, can it recover, and for what, to spill another tanker of crude.

I don`t what is harder to take, the fragile existence of a few northern runs of salmon and southern Sockeye, it`s almost like the cycle of life has been thrown out, this large swath of nature, thousands of square miles destroyed forever, well at least for my lifetime, perhaps 6 or 7 generations before this area will become fertile again but with continued oil tanker traffic when will black death strike again, even if the shell fish recover, even if herring spawns again, the Orca will never be seen again, the birthing females were first to die then the small adolescent Orca perished, 2 adult males are all that is left of the species, maybe mankind should have figured out how to start a new Orca pod before destroying the only one we had, we can take life away in a moment for all time, why didn`t we learn from the Valdez disaster, there is no going back, First Nations have mourned, the northern and island tourism industry has been decimated, maybe I should have fought harder against the National review 15 years ago, 10 years out from the disaster and Hecate Strait still lay mortally wounded, you can still smell crude oil, I can only think of Charlton Heston`s Planet of the Apes movie when he sees New York`s Statue of Liberty and realizes that it was mankind himself that burned mother nature, this area is no longer worth fighting for, top scientists are mostly in agreement that outside of decades of time there is nothing on scale that can be done to remediate the damage.

It appears the only ones left fighting about the Bengal Lion Star are the litigants, where have we seen this picture before, the Valdez law suit still lingers unpaid(40 years later), the Liberian registered Bengal Lion Star oil tanker had but minimum insurance, $200 million dollars yet the insurance has been contested, Bengal Lion Star hadn`t paid premiums in 2 years, Honshu commercial carrier insurance company have claimed bankruptcy, between the Province and Ottawa more than $4.9 billion has been spent on clean-up and species mitigation, First Nations, affected business`s and local town`s folk have law suits filed worth more than $10 billion dollars, everyone sueing and litigating for compensation on something no one can return, Enbridge pipeline inc washes their hands of any responsibility, Shell, Exxon Mobile and the Chinese petroleum company are all pointing fingers at each other, owners of the Bengal Lion Star blame the escort tug company, tug company blames act of god and file for bankruptcy, how long will these trials go on and who will ultimately pay, what price, what price to return nature to the way it was, all this pain to secure dirty Alberta syncrude to China, oil use falls for the last 7 years, a dying product needing desperate tyrants, we sold out nature on British Columbian`s wild west coast for a handful of pesos, how can ancient dregs of plants take so much away from present and future life cycles, I can`t shed tears anymore, my life, my personal battles, millions of wasted words warning of potential harm or should I say risk management, I `m too old to repeat the warnings and too tired to muster passion, the battle for Haida Gwaii is over.

Despite the First Nation`s blockade attempting to stop the very first oil tanker, 8 First Nations elders gave their life that day, not enough pressure to stop the Vessel, Oil tanker Shell diamond and it`s Canadian naval escort, dugout canoe versus high-speed frigate, symbolic but futile, the time to stop Enbridge was before it started, certainly native voices on opening day weren`t going to stop it, you can`t stop $4billion dollars spent, never the less January 13/2014 that was first super tanker to leave Kitimat, thousands of small protest vessels, even Greenpeace and Suzuki foundation concentrated efforts couldn`t stop the Federal Conservatives and the Campbell Liberal administration from rubber stamping this project from the git-go, proceeding at full speed, no matter how much evidence anti pipeline opponents, scientists, biologist, enviro`s put forward they were all but ignored, why didn`t the NDP government stop the completion of Enbridge after they were elected in 2013, was the fix in, too much money invested to stop, too big to fail, needed economic growth, jobs jobs jobs, yes I heard everyone of those excuses justifying the completion of Enbridge, what jobs, imported foreign workers building the pipeline and 12 permanent after construction jobs, was it worth it.

Madness, I knew something really big would happen, not the 5000 barrels that spilt into the Skeena river, not the 50,000 barrels dumped at the port of Kitimat but something epic, mathematician's also knew it was coming, not if a big spill would happen but when a spill would happen, I can still hear Gordon Campbell, Christy Clark talk about risk management, the best experts in the world say we can manage the risk, how come no one asked how do we manage armageddon, how do we clean up, how do we create more Orca, how do you bring back thousands of square miles from the dead, I wonder what Gordon Campbell would say, ex premier Adrian Dix stated regrets that the NDP didn`t do more to stop Enbridge, Gordon Campbell is long since dead, yes Gordon Muir Campbell I pass blame on to you and your complicit Cabinet, your legacy, Enbridge, bankrupt utilities, a dismal health care system, a dead central coast and slow dying life cycle, well, no one is listening to me, not the Governing federal Conservatives, not Premier Gordon Coons of the newly elected Refederation party, no, no one wants to listen to the left wing, after the BC Liberal led economic collapse, the seeds of P3s, IPPs and insider deals dominated, it didn`t matter who was Government so many bad deals were signed, how many can the court overturn, the extent of the economic damage that came to fruition, what happened, like the Spanish flu in 1919 that killed millions, no one talks about the harm Gordon Campbell`s corporate Government inflicted upon us, the extent of one way contracts that ate up every Provincial dollar and more, I can`t help but think back to our 2010 Olympics, the pride, the I am Canadian attitude, Super Natural British Columbia but just a few short years after the closing ceremonies we have poisoned interior lakes, lost countless wild salmon runs to fish farms and now the third largest oil spill in the world, a death blow to our BC Coast, a massive spill in our migration engine.

Just picture heaven covered in oil, and what hurts even more, the people of BC don`t seem to care anymore, in the latest public opinion poll by Ipsos Reid job creation and big industry are more important than the environment, 67% for jobs and 16% say protect the environment, it`s times like this when I stare across at Mc Caully island or look into Norway inlet, smell the oil, I see the end of the world being played out, there is no shoulder of comfort to lean on, no soothing hugs that can squelch my silent anger, 576 successful departures from Kitimat, 576 loaded oil tankers that safely managed the inside passage, risk management, reward versus risk, despite 5 years of cruise ships not plying the inside passage, despite the loss to tourism, despite a sterile ocean desert, despite the tiniest of recoveries on the outer edges of the spill zone, despite of everything tanker traffic is predicted to triple over the next 3 years, an insatiable Asian appetite for oil and now that paradise is lost there is nothing left to fight for and no reason to stop, perhaps other edens can be spared.

Number 577, no tears of anger, no screams of silence, nothing but "That peaceful easy feeling."

Haida Nation blasts Enbridge about “deliberately misleading” info in Northern Gateway filing

Haida Nation President Guujaaw is making some serious allegations about “deliberately misleading and false information”

in Enbridge Northern Gateway
documents provided to the federal Joint Review Panel which will soon commence hearings on the controversial oils sands pipeline project.

Specifically, Guujaaw rejects Enbridge’s claim that the Haida are in the process of “relationship building” with the Calgary-based company which is seeking to build an oil transmission pipeline from Alberta to the BC coast at Kitimat.

Haida have an interest in the project because oil tankers will carry oil sands crude past Haida Gwaii,

which includes a national park and designated UNESCO world heritage site.

It hasn’t been a good week for Enbridge. Earlier, a majority of Gitxsan hereditary chiefs renounced a much-trumpted profit-sharing deal with Enbridge.

Here’s an email to the Panel, which was cc’d to me on Friday by Guujaaw.

Enbridge has provided deliberately misleading and false information contained in their Section 52 Application claiming that the applicant has built relationships with the Haida Fisheries Program, Haida Development Corporation (sic, presumably Haida Enterprise Corporation) and Haida Child and Family Services.

Haida Gwaii Community Futures is not an ‘Aboriginal Organization’ and has no idea how they got on the list.

Representatives of the above organizations are in no way engaged with nor have they given any reason to believe they are “relationship building” with Enbridge.

We would like to have all of these names stricken from Enbridge’s filed documents as it is libellous bringing these organizations into disrepute, not only with their own constituents, but also the many First Nations, organizations and people who are committed to the health of this planet.

Another phony poll released today, this one from NRG research......

Here are the results.BC NDP 36%..BC Liberal 32%..John Cummins 19%

Also to note, this company doesn`t say who commissioned the poll.

They ask but one question in this poll, now for what I know about polling this type of question tends to skew the results.....

Here is the one question they ask...

"If an election for your provincial MLA were held tomorrow, would you vote for Christy Clark`s BC Liberal candidate, Adrian Dix`s BC NDP candidate or John Cummins` BC Conservative candidate?"

So there`s the question and up top are the (over-all % numbers) for the Province...

But if we look into the results from different parts of the province you soon realize the poll is bunk...

Overall----BC NDP 36%..BC Liberal 32%..BC Cons 19%...Undecided 13%.

Island and North coast---BC NDP 39%..BC Liberals 31%...John Cummins 19%...Undecided 11%.

Interior---BC NDP 42%...BC Liberal 28%...John Cummins 20%...Undecided 11%.

Check out those numbers, first off, John Cummins is stuck at 20% in all areas, that`s consistent with most other polling outfits, did you notice how the BC NDP have a rather hefty lead on Vancouver island and the North Coast, that is expected, but those numbers for the Island, the NDP`s stronghold, is below their historic, below their NORMAL numbers for that area, even in the last 2009 election the BC NDP blew away the number this polling firm has posted(39%) for the island.

That number sounds ridiculously low for the NDP stronghold, ...

And here`s the proof that the number is wrong....Check out the interior numbers...

BC NDP at 42%...BC Liberals at 28%..BC Con John Cummins at 20%...

So are you telling me the NDP are stronger in the interior than the Isalnd?, the BC NDP have never faired well in the interior, it`s usually riding specific, but here in this poll in the land of Conservatism including many many Alberta retirees is where the NRG poll gives the NDP its largest lead...

Full stop!!!!.....If indeed the NDP have 42% support in the interior, they surely must have 57 to 60% support on the island and North Coast.

There is one area of the province left, the lower mainland, look at those above numbers, how could the NDP be at 36% overall and the BC Liberals be at 32% overall when in those 2 areas the BC NDP have a ....14% lead in one(BC Liberal stronghold) and a mere 8% percentage point lead in the other(BC NDP stronghold)

The numbers don`t add up do they?...Unless, unless the lower mainland numbers are breaking big for the BC Liberals....

Here is the final set of numbers..

Lower Mainland--BC Liberals 36%....BC NDP 33%...John Cummins 18%..Undecided 14%..

So there you have it, according to these clowns(NRG), they would have you believe that the NDP have dropped support in their island strongholds but gained support in BC Liberal stronghold land, Alberta retiree land, it`s laughable to believe that the NDP are stronger in the interior than they are on Vancouver island...

And for NRG to think that Christy Clark has a lead in the Lower Mainland is equally absurd...

Back to the question...No where does the polling outfit say they rotated the question, meaning Christy Clark`s name was mentioned first everytime..

Also, who is Christy Clark?...Answer..Photo-op Queen, her name is on every newspaper headline, every radio report and fluff n puff photo-op...

I`m talking about NRG using name recognition to affect and deliver a different result..."Christy Clark`s BC Liberal candidate,"

The question should be ....Would you vote for a BC Liberal candidate...A BC NDP candidate...or a BC CONSERVATiVE candidate
